BOC middle - the less said about this the better, it’ll make me pissed off again. The map was wrong, I wasn’t experienced enough to realise or deal with it quick enough and this lead to a pretty big mistake.

Fitness was finally shown up this weekend - crawled up most hills pretty slowly - that’s no bother as it’s part of the plan. Bad shape now will reap the rewards later in the season. Fitness is fun to chase back anyway.

Pretty alright race - no major mistakes. Legs didn’t feel ready to go though and the lungs weren’t ideal. Kris caught me near the end but I ended up in second so jobs a good one.

British sprint champs final - 7th

Interesting interessssting. Mistake at #2 of about 6s running into a dead end in the top end of a square. Got it sorted no bother. Some pretty good routes and running well from there.

Turns out I was in joint 3rd place with Jonny and WillyG at control #13 so close to the finish but had a mind blip on my entrance to #14 and ran into the wrong building corner losing 7 or so seconds. Flustered a bit I chose the wrong route out of #14 getting caught out by one of those classic impassable light green hedges. Damn damn damn lost another 10s.

Wasn’t aware I’d lost so much time so was fairly happy at the finish, not a disaster but wow looking back... in the fight for the medals. Some motivation to take into the World Cup in Switzerland!
