Sunday Aug 12

Event: City2Surf

Kayak (Hawks Nest) 1:40:00 [3]15.5 km (6:27 / km)
slept:9.0 shoes: Red7 double
morning paddle with Prong. From Jimmy's beach out through Port Stephens, around Cabbage Tree Island back to Hawks Nest.
Perfect day. Nice conditions. Best paddle I've ever done.

Practiced some beach starts and landings afterwards. The Red 7 does barrel rolls better than it rides the waves.
Run (Jacaba) 40:00 [3]6 km (6:40 / km) +200m 5:43 / km
shoes: Salomon Trail Comp2
Evening run along beach and up Jacaba to take photos of the sunset.
Felt pretty tired.

Saturday Aug 11

Kayak (Hawks Nest) 1:32:10 [3]12.8 km (7:12 / km)
slept:9.0 shoes: Red7 double
with Dad in Red7.
Firstly down along Jimmy's beach, then back into the wind, around island, and up Myall river back to the house at Winda Woppa. Bloody beautiful day.
Run (Jacaba) 1:10:00 [3]10.55 km (6:38 / km)
shoes: Salomon Trail Comp2
From #6 Sundeck St, along Jimmy's beach, then time trial up Jacaba- 9.56min (1.2km 226m climb). Tired near the top and had to walk some of it. Got there just in time of a marvellous sunset. Back along Bennetts and Jimmy's beaches, mostly on soft sand.

Friday Aug 10

Note
(rest day)
Should have trained, but just couldn't be bothered. Drove to Hawks Nest in the evening for weekend with the family.

Thursday Aug 9

Note
slept:4.0 (rest day)
Early flight from Melbourne to Canberra. Worked all day at ACTAS and was too tired to train in the arvo. Decided to drive home instead.

Wednesday Aug 8

Run (Delburn Forest) 54:00 [3]9.2 km (5:52 / km)
slept:8.0 shoes: Asic 2110
Morning run with Kathryn. Around the forest for 25mins. 10 x 30sec surges to freshen up for XPD. Back home. Feeling pretty tired, but enjoyed the surges.

Tuesday Aug 7

Road Cycling (Delburn to Traralgon) 1:16:00 [3]40 km (1:54 / km)
slept:9.0
Ride from Kathryn's to Traralgon. Another nice day, sunny, not cold, a bit windy but usually a tail wind. Road surface was ok and traffic ok so definately could have been worse.
Run (Delburn Forest) 40:00 [3]7.2 km (5:33 / km)
shoes: Salomon Trail Comp2
Evening run with Kathryn around the forest trails. Feeling ok. Legs good.

Monday Aug 6

Run (Delburn Forest) 1:00:00 [3]9.55 km (6:17 / km) +475m 5:02 / km
slept:8.5 shoes: Salomon Trail Comp2
morning terrain run through the pines and eucalypt. This time into a steeper gully, very reminiscent of NZ sand dunes. Cold wind blowing but nice in the forest.
Feeling ok. No leg soreness.
Run (Traralgon) 57:00 [3]11.5 km (4:57 / km)
shoes: Asic 2110
Afternoon run with Kathryn in Traralgon. Mostly on grass and bike paths along the river, and a bit through the streets. Feeling ok.
