MTB Cycling race 2:33:40 [5] 38.13 km (4:02 / km)

Woodend:- Had an ok start but didn't take it as hard as yesterday. It was colder, wetter and slippery and after a few small offs I took it easy. Looking at the splits I was doing ok, and certainly fighting for 2nd but got a puncture near 7. Funny cos I never get punctures and I didn't have a pump or tube. Waited for Dari to come and he nicely gave me a 29inch tube that wouldn't fit, and an pump that didn't work. Thanks mate :P Then Alex came by and gave me a tube but I still couldn't pump it up until another guy came along with a gas canister. Lost 25mins and was pretty cold by the time I started. Never really regained much intensity and strolled across the line a long way behind AJ.

Kayaking 50:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:33 / km)

Hazelwood Pondage:- after a shocking day of rain I went paddling with Kath in the Red 7 and it was quite nice. We experimented with swapping positions in the boat (I'm normally in the front) but still not sure what combo is best.

Running 44:59 [3]

Wilson's Promontory:- beautiful morning run with Kathryn. Struggled to get going, particulary on the hills. Nice swim to wake me up.

Running 1:19:12 [3] 12.36 km (6:25 / km)

Wilson's Promontory:- Awesome trail from Tidal River to Oberon beach around the coastal walking track. Such a great area. Legs were a bit tired from the ride, but ok after I got going.

Road Cycling 1:43:50 [3] 42.64 km (2:26 / km)

Wilson's Promontory:- After coming down to the Prom I couldn't resist staying a bit longer. And would you believe they have better internet coverage at Tidal River than at my place. And with a nice cafe to sit in and tap away on the laptop things couldn't be better!

Got out for a ride on the road bike. Out for about an hour, then back via a few of the beaches and a tough climb up to Mt Oberon saddle carpark. Legs felt ok and it was nice to be riding for a change.

Running 39:28 [3] 6.51 km (6:04 / km)

Wilson's Promontory:- After spending the night on the Spirit of Tasmania, we drove home in the morning and in the arvo headed down to the Prom to meet Kathryn's dad who was holding a school camp there. I've only been there once for a day last year and had forgotten how beautiful it is.

We had a quick jog before it got dark. My calves were tight but othewise felt better than I should have. If we had another day of racing I would have beaten Grant by even more.
