Highland Wolf Long - Uath Lochans
1st

Didn't have a great start to the race when my tights decided to completely unravel leaving the 1st control. Stood there for a bit trying to decide whether to continue but decided they were long enough to be slightly decent. Was actually quiet nice having a bit of breeze...would recommend :P

Anyway, after that it all went really well. Was navigating great, started to suffer physically from about 14.
Caught Jenny at 4, ran behind her to 5 but realised she was going too far right so snuck in and got it. Slightly banana'd 6 and she got in front again. Then together until 9 where she went too far left. I got the control and was by myself all the way until 18 (bad route on this one, lost 1min). At which point Jenny caught back up, along with Nixon who burst into laughter at the sight of my tights. Then mostly trying to chase Jenny through to the finish as she was running a lot faster through the terrain than me by that point. Although I did sneak ahead again for 22-24.

Best fun I've had in a long distance for quite a while! Definitely glad I kept going after 1...result was pretty good also. Maybe I should run without pants more often ;)

Highland Wolf Middle - Glen Gynack

Absolutely lovely forest, had so much fun!! First 3 controls were in the open heather which was tough, then in lush grassy forest which was pretty fast running by Scottish standards. Actually enjoyed forest orienteering for the first time in a while and feeling like I'm regaining some fitness :) Only real time loss was to 13 where I struggled in the rougher terrain and was quite uncertain where I was most of the leg.

Highland Wolf Sprint - Kingussie
1st

Absolutely loved the first 5 controls in the forest (more than the actual urban bit)! Was so fast and pushed hard as I knew time could be had in this section. Rest of the course was quite a struggle to push hard, suffering on any climb (especially as it was the second race in a day). Opted for the left round route on 14 but didn't seem to be as fast as I thought it looked (although I did start heading right before I saw the left route).
