More Pentlands! My favourite running conditions in the fog and warm rain.

With Jonny and Peter to begin with along the tracks from Penicuik then usual way back to Morrisons. Feeling quite good on the climbs until the last couple of minutes of the final climb.

BMC 5000m - Glasgow

Initially a bit annoyed as the slowest race was going to be paced at 17.15mins! But a couple of the other girls were also aiming for about 18.30 and were pacing really even laps so just sat in behind them and tried to hang on as long as possible. Started to become a grind with 6 laps to go and had to force myself to stay with the other two. Our times had started to drop to about 18.32 pace so knew I had to really dig in for the final 800m and managed to claw 5 secs back.

Really happy with this race as I paced it super evenly the whole way...always within a second or two of my target pace. And off no speedwork at all this year, hopefully my pb time isn't too far out of reach.

3x 1 Mile Relay - Leg 1

Had always wanted to do this but always clashed with important races in the weekend afterwards. This was my last chance to do it before leaving Edinburgh so thought I'd go along and cruise at a decent pace with Friday's race in mind. Then got put on the first leg so obviously my competitiveness kicked in and couldn't help myself but go fast!
Started off about 5th woman and gradually moved my way past people as the fast starters started to suffer. Then coming round the last bend I was about 5 metres behind the 1st woman so obvs had to take her! haha.

Cycling was always going to win over aquajogging on a day like this! Absolutely roasting!

Headed out to Dalmeny then turned left and went exploring along some paths towards Kirkliston. First path was lovely gravel path through some woods then second half turned quite narrow and stingy/prickly.
Then across to the canal at Ratho, past Heriot Watt to the WoL. Unfortunately got a puncture just heading out of Colinton so had a long walk home.
