My first ever national xc (English, Scottish and I think, NZ)!!!

Pretty crazy number of people. Got very boxed in at the start but managed to work through with Cat to be in a decent position at the top of the first hill. Probably a good thing as I would've gone off far too hard otherwise.
Settled into a good tempo pace down the hill and didn't feel like I was pushing the limit, but hit the inevitable wall after the climb onto the 2nd lap at 5km. Big struggle home from there.
Felt unfit/lack of endurance rather than ill, so I guess that is promising.
