Run long (Trail) 5:19:10 [3] 42.4 km (7:32 / km) +1383m 6:28 / km
shoes: Inov8 Rocklite 280 (yellow)

Central Coast running I.

Cradle Mountain run prep with Bart. Wondabyne - Girakool - Mt. Wondabyne - tunnel (?!?!) - Patonga - Umina Beach.

Can't believe this is the first time we did this run because it is AWESOME and not far away at all.

Had no idea what to expect from my body given I haven't done much training lately and as the only proper big run since Hounslouw Ultra I can consider probably only Ben Lomond summit with Brooner in NZ... Plus this men flu thing and my burned ass...

Turned out it's not that bad, in Bart's words - you don't loose your fitness that quickly. Yes we were taking it easy, power walking most big hills and stuff but still, it was a trail marathon and finishing with two long beach stretches.

Towards Patonga I had some black thoughts (dehydration, was a lot hotter than forecasted) but coke fixed me up. And then glorious fish'n'chips shop in Umina were we got completely stuffed for $21 (for both of us!).

Highlight of the day: Bart dancing polka with 20cm long snake (not mine, an actual snake)

Run (Road) 32:51 [2] 6.9 km (4:46 / km) +112m 4:24 / km
shoes: Inov8 Rocklite 280 (yellow)

Just an easy jog to introduce new shoes (hope these Roclites will last more than 500 km...). Fancy bright yellow colour, Barbora named them 'Bees'

Note
(rest day)

Need to get my body ready for the big weekend of running at Central Coast with Bart. Still can't get rid of mucus and my fairly burned ass (did I mention that spilled tea story?) gives me hard time and funky coloured blisters :)

Orienteering race (Road/Trail) 43:17 [5] 9.1 km (4:45 / km) +209m 4:16 / km
(sick) shoes: Asics Nimbus 16

SSS East Killara. Pretty straightforward route choice but fun course - first 15 minutes on trails and then hard street running. Given I still feel a bit shitty, I'm quite happy with the overall result (600) though nearly 4 mins from Steve are rather massive!

Legs felt good but upper body wasn't coping well with blocked nose (nearly vomited a few times) and still struggle with the heat. Bad route choice to the 1st control (30'') and few small hesitations (2x15''), otherwise happy, don't think I would have been able to run much faster today.

Crossfit 15:00 [3] 1.5 km (10:00 / km) +75m 8:00 / km
shoes: Asics Nimbus 16

Oregon hill circuits - one set with Bart - 6x(1min core/legs strength+1 hill rep).

Muscles coping well but the body in general struggled, too hot after three weeks of running in much colder NZ...
12 PM

Run (Road) 37:59 [3] 8.1 km (4:41 / km) +89m 4:27 / km
(sick) shoes: Asics Nimbus 16

Run to Observatory hill and back. Struggling a big time on the way back - heat and men flu after effects.
