Orienteering race (offtrail) 48:57 [3] 5.4 km (9:04 / km) +325m 6:58 / km
ahr:153 shoes: Inov8 Race Ultra 290

MetrO League 3 - Glengarry

Ha, this was easily one of my worst orienteering races ever. Tricky area, lots of rock details, low visibility. I just did not manage to get into any kind of rhythm, kept confusing myself, doing absolutely dumb mistakes. Very frustrating one for me. I guess I need to drink more the night before - last time it worked well and today it worked for Andy haha.

No point in listing my mistakes - there were too many to mention them all lol. But a rough look at my map suggests something around 9 minutes worth of mistakes - OUCH!

Originally planned a run down to Bobbin head after the race but I was tired, pissed off at myself and had no desire to run any further whatsoever (well except back to a train station).

btw, Relive recap is funny as hell: https://www.relive.cc/view/1052611733

Was lazying about for a half day and then realised it's just too nice outside not to go for a run. Put my singlet on, jumped on a bus to Malabar and then ran back via Malabar Headland, Coastal walk and from Bronte up via CP. Absolutely loved it.

Note: Malabar Headland is closed Saturdays because of the rifle range. I didn't know that so flew past that first ranger I saw and when I bumped into a second one he told my why it was closed. He was a good dude though and said I could keep running claiming it's not dangerous as long as I stick to the trail. Still, hearing the shooting fairly close to my left wasn't very comforting... :)

Run (Trail) 47:49 [4] 10.3 km (4:39 / km) +231m 4:10 / km

6k trail tempo on LCNP trails or in other words Keelan style CR thievery run. Collected 3x CR and 2x 2nd. Smashing these trails is so much fun!

Also it confirmed that dodgy GPS does not affect Strava segments. I ran exactly the same route three weeks back with mobile app and the inaccurate GPS data overvalued vertical (by 20%) and distance (2%) but there is no adjustment for segments. In fact, I ran every single one a lot faster today with still tired legs.

Run hills (Road) 36:00 [3] 6.0 km (6:00 / km) +280m 4:52 / km
shoes: Asics GT-2000

Moo stairs reps, 1x10 (8:35) legs cooked after the first set already, definitely not recovered yet from the rogiane, but decided to push further and did another 5 (4:20) and only after I nearly twisted my ankle and almost rolled down the stairs realised I should go home. Right quad a bit tight throughout.

Increased the cadence to 180 with DJ Tiesto. Felt a bit unnatural at the beginning but managed to maintain it throughout the whole run. Legs still quite tired.

Easy recovery shuffle. Tried the Spotify running and set it on 170spm. Actually a nice change to isolate myself from the city noise...
