shoes: NB Vazee Pace Elite

warm up along the Batemans bay shore with my friends (they pulled out after 3k pfff)
5 PM

Run intervals 1:12:30 [4] 18.05 km (4:01 / km) +65m 3:57 / km
ahr:155 shoes: NB Vazee Pace Elite

3x5km @ MRP w/ 1km recoveries between Batemans Bay and Denhams beach. Hard work after a boozy night. Melb mara in two weeks so if I want to go anywhere near 2:45, I need to start resting, no alcohol and proper stretching.

Didn't wear my SKINSā„¢ and forgot to apply Vaselineā„¢ - chaffed like a boss as a result. Ouch.

Run race 17:39 [5] 5.0 km (3:32 / km)

Batemans Bay park run. Wanted to go sub17, but I wasn't particularly fresh (long drive form Sydney and beers the night before) and it was terribly windy. First km was ok then I slowly died and got even overtaken by one dude towards the end. Finished in 17:39.

Run tempo 1:02:03 [4] 12.62 km (4:55 / km) +605m 3:58 / km
shoes: Asics GT-2000 4

Couldn't resist and half way through a bushwalk in Murramurrang NP (from Pebbly Beach) with friends gave Barbora our backpack and went for a trail tempo. Nice undulating trails and decent effort up Mt Durras (1.3km/280m climb). Very dehydrated towards the end.

Run tempo 1:31:00 [4] 21.1 km (4:19 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-2000 4

The last one of my USyd experimental runs. Tready half in heat chamber (30 degrees in the room) and dousing room temperature water over my head each 4km. It felt fucking hot today and I was struggling to maintain the pace towards the end. I will definitely need a proper rest before the Melb Marathon.

Some quick facts:
- I sweated 2.5l each run on average
- Ran all three sessions between 1:29-1:31 (I didn't know the pace), looks like I generally run slower on treadmil
- Not surprisingly, the most comfortable run was the one when I was dousing myself with cold water
- My core temperature increased by 2 degrees on average during each test run

Interesting experience but I'm glad it's done. I was over it like 5km in today. Three treadmill halfmarathons within one month are just a bit too much of boring running :)

Run warm up/down 20:00 [1] 4.0 km (5:00 / km)

Run tempo 1:01:33 [4] 15.65 km (3:56 / km) +23m 3:54 / km
ahr:156 max:167 shoes: Asics GT-2000 4

14k mrp tempo (3:55) - was hitting the splits well and felt reasonably comfortable, just my HR was a bit too high to my liking. With rested legs and proper nutrition, I fell pretty confident I can run the whole marathon at this pace (2:45).
