Orienteering 1:04:06 [3]10.06 km (6:22 / km) +345m 5:26 / km

Huckleberry Hillside Hunt day 1. not a bad run - this terrain is not unlike Queensland. at least, not a bad run after number 1, where I wasn't yet into the map, lost contact and blew 3 minutes in the featureless but low(ish) visibility pines. lost concentration (no checking compass) out of 6, and again out of 11. must not do this (did it again out of 2 on the following day - seems to be becoming a bad habit).

Blue - Splits

Wednesday Jun 25

Running 51:38 [3]7.4 mi (6:58 / mi)
ahr:169
usual river loop of late; 8:20pm, 87F, 50% humidity (!). The heat got to me within ten minutes, the rest was a bit of a battle to keep the pace reasonable and hr average below 170. This was supposed to be an easy run.

Tomorrow is supposed to be hotter...

Tuesday Jun 24

Intervals 20:00 [5]
ahr:175
fartlek as last tuesday. much hotter (mid 70s, humid at 9pm).
Running 31:24 [3]7.4 mi (4:14 / mi)
the rest of the distance. a day of no running seems basically to have fixed the right knee.

Monday Jun 23

Strength & Conditioning 45:00 [2]
2*10 l/b; at MIT. First for a while, on a beautiful sunny afternoon (more's the pity).
very low weights (no point starting too high):
200/220 slp, 180 sls, 65 ibp, 70 wc, 60/70/60 bbbor.
Running 8:55 [2]1.19 mi (7:29 / mi)
warmdown home.

Sunday Jun 22

Orienteering 2:10:00 [2]10 km (13:00 / km) +220m 11:43 / km
baldwin hill, checking sites ahead of august's a-meet. this will be one technical a-meet for blue and red at least. mark your calendars. (pity i won't be there). 57F, intermittent rain (occasionally quite heavy). low intensity, of course, although ran some legs properly.
