Classic, Florida A meet. Screwed up 1 by not concentrating hard enough (drifted right; maybe map not perfect in relative orientation of features, but the mistake was my fault (safer to stay left of the line)). Control 10 was not my fault - trail under water, and thickish green next to it, took at least two minutes off the time.

Not bad for zero training over the last few months.

Late arrival at the WRE due to flights and the urgent need for a little sleep, I must confess. Ran the course without controls, so the concept of 'spike' is a little approximate. Warm; very pleasant orienteering (open forest). Also didn't have a watch, but did stop to check out a few control sites where it wasn't 100% obvious which thicket the control had been on.
