| Highland-Pinnacle-Cobbs Hill, multiplicitously looping. 28F, overcast, slightly icy on trodden trails on slopes but hard-packed snow in many other places. The identity of those who ride bikes around the trails on Pinnacle Hill (which is really quite steep) in the snow is something of a mystery to me. More so than the identity, though, is the desire. |
Saturday Dec 8 |
 | Running 46:00 [3] 6.27 mi (7:20 / mi) | |

| Highland Park + Mt Hope cemetery (first time around for this - it requires a short run to make more sense than other options, plus one in the daytime, plus a time I want to run on hard surfaces, which means winter weekends when I'm in town and have a time constraint, and then only). Not bad, but I think I wouldn't want to run there that often. 33F, partly sunny, relatively still. |

Wednesday Dec 5 |
 | Running 30:00 4.21 mi (7:08 / mi) | |
| shoes: johann cantaloupe bach |
| Treadmill, 5 min warmup, 20 min threshold (ie 10.0mph, 1.0% grade), 5 min cooldown. Better something than nothing. We've already had 20.7 inches of snow this winter, all but about 1.7 inches of it since Saturday. It being icy, dark, and 18F meant I was unenthusiastic about running outside. It's time to find somewhere to learn XC skiing... (something I've not done except in 1992, briefly). Where does one learn in Rochester? (And where does one rent equipment?) |
