Event: ROC - 2nd Annual Adventure Run

Orienteering 1:50:00 [3]** 15 km (7:20 / km) +400m 6:28 / km
spiked:24/24c shoes: johann delphiniorum bach
ROC Adventure Run, Ellison Park / Ellison Wetlands. Nice course by Eric; thanks. Rather warm and humid day (79-80F, dp 62-63F) and a lot of trail running, but they are nice trails (particularly the link trail between the two parks from Old Browncroft north, probably my favorite trail in Monroe County, although some trails at Mendon are nice also). No difficulties with the navigation (although perhaps a suboptimal route choice in the opening 'matrix'). Carried water; was glad I did.

Running 40:00 5.7 mi (7:01 / mi)

Route. Warm and humid, but overcast (73/66). Distance is added a little since the map indicates about 2.7 miles while warming up and down in 20 minutes, 2.8 miles while running tempo... must be the inaccurate hand-drawn guesses at trails in Cobbs Hill.
My heart rate monitor watch has a battery in it for the first time since about 2005. I even have a watch other than my cellphone via this means. Next I might master clearing the memory so as to get statistics...

Wednesday Jun 25

Running 39:00 [3]4.84 mi (8:02 / mi) +145m 4:35 / km
shoes: johann delphiniorum bach
Route. Continuing my current explorations, took the opportunity to explore the northern couple of miles of the Seneca Trail in Victor. A little bit less used than some trails, and rather damp at 7am, but nice to see once. Lots of littlebrownbirds out, a deer near the Thruway the second time, and a squirrel or two. 60F, dp 53F, clear.

Tuesday Jun 24

Running 41:00 [3]5.65 mi (7:16 / mi) +50m 4:23 / km
shoes: johann delphiniorum bach
Now-usual morning run, attempting to keep on straightish lines to see what the pace is by gmap-measurement. Route. Still too fast. This is supposed to be 8:00 to 8:30 miles. Running slower than 7:15/miles is just ridiculous-feeling, though.

Monday Jun 23

Running 40:00 [3]5.0 mi (7:59 / mi)
shoes: johann delphiniorum bach
Cobbs Hill loop. Back via Hinsdale/Rosedale/Monroe/Pembroke/Nelson/Beaufort/Benton/S Goodman/Linden. Cool and damp (64F, dp 59F) after overnight showers; sun is strong by 8am, though. Sore knees for the first 3-4 minutes until muscles warmed up. I am old if I can't just start...
