A vaguely panicked jog to the start, though I was only a minute late. Absolutely dripping by the end though, fastest I moved all day.
Got immediately started on my jelly babies in the box, legs were feeling rather heavy.

British Long Distance Championships - High Dam
Plan was to take it steady, and see how it went. To that end, nice and slow to 1, getting it cleanly. Then I realised that my nice and slow pace was actually just going to be as fast as I could manage, and settled in for the long haul.
Daft route to 2, was scared of the climb for some reason which wasted a lot of time, not to mention coming in across the steep slope was wrecking my ankles and it was more or less impossible to know where I actually was.
Then I just ran off like a eejit to 3 without a proper plan.
Struggling to read the map here to be honest, everything was so small and impossible to work out #pathorcrag
To cut a long story short, eventually wandered round towards 13, taking the path around the bottom. Not sure if this was actually a good route or not, but it was relatively easy running. Tweaked my ankle coming up the hill, sat down to wait for the pain to go away and checked the rest of the course and the time it had taken to get here.
Re-evaluated my life choices and decided to bail out, adding to my list of incomplete races this year. No ragrets though, would've still been out there otherwise. Feeling my lower back out there more than my hip, which was strange
