shoes: Mudroc 290s

British Relay Championships - Torphantrick aka Cambus O'May

This was super fun, I loved it. Nice area, orienteering well and I had the shortest gaffe to boot. One route choice error to 1, went right when I should've gone left which cost about 50 seconds. Other than that, all fine! Running relatively quickly, considering, and got us up from 7th to 3rd for a medal

Great day in the woods, course was excellent. Glad we weren't on the Premier, too far for my taste ;)

Warm Up/Down 12:30 [2] 2.02 km (6:11 / km) +30m 5:46 / km

Easyish jog to the start with Purky, other than the enforced walk by a mad horse lady

Orienteering Race 2:40:04 [2] 17.19 km (9:19 / km) +600m 7:56 / km

British Orienteering Championships - Balmoral Estate

Really got my value for money from this, it was a bit of an ordeal. Also I was orienteering like an idiot and really not moving very fast.

Blew 5 minutes to 1, so Purky was instantly past up the hill, then missed 4, and 5 despite Calum pointing where it was. Map seemed really crap in there, but maybe I was just twatting about a bit much. The return to that area for 9 went just as badly.
Rest of the course went better, if slower. Just having my jelly babies every 15 minutes and staggering around some controls, but no major time loss.

Apart from feeling a bit exhausted and unfit, I was pretty alright! Forest was very pretty, and the weather was excellent, good stuff.

Ps, Not having water in the area was utterly ridiculous, and could've been pretty dangerous.

Easy coastal.

Such a beautiful evening, and I figured I couldn't miss out! Didn't want to run, just to be sure the foot would be fine for the weekend, so I cycled out to North Berwick along the coast and got a lift home with the family.

Headwind the entire way, but I didn't mind it too much - was feeling good, and having fun. Such a gorgeous evening, I almost didn't want to stop, but the lure of chips was too great.
I did mind the cracking/creaking noise the bike is making, which didn't sound too healthy. Probably does need the entire drivechain replaced though!
