Saturday Mar 2 #

running long 2:09:00 [3] 15.08 mi (8:33 / mi) +213m 8:12 / mi
shoes: Saucony Freedom 2.0

Ran around the Fallen Comrades HMR course and added in a warmup/cooldown. Goal was to maintain marathon pace + 30 seconds and I think this was a success, counting in the hills.

Friday Mar 1 #

Note
(rest day)

All day trip section to Lincoln Labs and Haystack Observatory. Science is cool.

Thursday Feb 28 #

cross training 4:00 [4]

APFT
PU: 77
SU: 102
Not good.

running tempo 14:07 [4] 2.0 mi (7:03 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Freedom 2.0

Don't you love when you're given three minutes to warm up for a 2 mile in below freezing temps. At least this was better than last APFT. Still ran like ass though.

Wednesday Feb 27 #

orienteering 42:45 [2] 5.36 km (7:59 / km) +110m 7:14 / km
shoes: Saucony Ride

Catch your local village idiot sliding through the ice-coated woods on their butt so as to not slip and die. Literally almost died no less than ten times.

Easy because of another APFT tomorrow.

running warm up/down 7:00 [1] 0.81 mi (8:38 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Freedom 2.0

cross training warm up/down (dynamics) 15:00 [3]

A good long warmup with the team because it's cold cold cold

running intervals 14:03 [4] 2.25 mi (6:15 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Freedom 2.0

Progression 400s. 3x(3x400) starting at a not-too-quick pace with the intent to shed 5 sec per set, so for me it would be 100s/95s/90s. Went too quick on the first few and couldn't hit the last three consistently but it felt great to be on the track again.

96/99/96
93/94/93
93/90/93

running 23:47 [1] 1.9 mi (12:31 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Freedom 2.0

Recovery 200s and 400s between each, then the jog back to the barracks

cross training (core) 10:00 [4]

Monday Feb 25 #

running 1:00:25 [2] 6.03 mi (10:01 / mi) +70m 9:40 / mi
shoes: Saucony Ride

Very, very easy running with a sprint course mixed in for fun. Was tired after the Stand Down day so I just took it slow and enjoyed the feeling of being outside after being indoors all day.

Sunday Feb 24 #

Note
(rest day)

Homework and leadership funsies. Funsies as in I have a headache.
