Providence Rhode Races Marathon. In short: didn't take the distance and pace seriously enough, got overconfident, and got my ass handed to me.

Basically, felt really great following the 3:30 pacer for the first half, passing 13.1 in 1:43, and decided to pull away with a group going 7:30-7:40. That went well until mile 15, needed to take an urgent rest stop that took way too long (4-5 min), and tried to catch back up by dropping 7:10s. Bad idea. Hit the wall a bit after 10k, couldn't maintain pace except for brief fast stints, and missed my goal time by a lot. Had a ton of fun though, so I am DEFINITELY running one of these again! Even though everything hurts now and I'm dying.

2 days left. Realized the other day that the BQ time this year is 3:30, not 3:35... meaning I probably have to aim for 3:20-3:24ish, instead of 3:30 as originally anticipated. So yep, this is just got a lot more exciting.
