Note
(rest day)

I think after the disappointment of this weekend there are a few things I definitely need to work on.
One thing that was reoccurring was my inability to ignore people around me, obviously very easily distracted, so I'll talk to my coach and work out some ways to deal with that and hopefully in the next few big races that are coming up I'll be able to get my act together and produce some good results that I know I have done the training and preparation to produce.

Orienteering race (JK RELAY) 19:05 [5] 2.8 km (6:49 / km)

W48- 2.8 19.05

Won my leg! Finally a good result, although I was running mainly against 16's but Lucy put up a good fight. First half was pretty edgy, I kept on going to the other gafolds controls before mine but the second half of the course was pretty spot on, over took a lot of them on the path as I thought if I didn't do it then I wouldn't have any other chance so I really pushed hard on the easy bits, that's when I came into the lead and everything just kind of fell into place, me and lucy were running head to head for a few controls but then she disappeared and I could see the finish, was glad I lost her before because I wouldn't have been capable of a sprint finish. absolute exhausted.

After some good runs from both megan and daisy we finished in 6th

Orienteering race (JK DAY 3) 1:24:57 [4] 10.0 km (8:30 / km)

W18E 7.7 1:24:57

Where do I even start.
Started pretty slow and spiked the first 2 controls... then it all fell apart. Started picking up the pace and somehow got dragged way off course to 3, mustn't have let my compass settle or something I dont know but I was following a baring and I was at least 300m too far down the hill, after about 10 minutes of seaching I was had to ask someone. When I got to 3 Aoife, who started 2 minutes behind me, was there. It completely threw me, just like yesterday with natalie, when I was in the right direction to 4 I saw her veering off to the right and stupidly I doubted myself and lost all contact with the map. eventually we got to a track together and I worked out where we were and found 4 fine after that. There was a point somewhere in all the confusion that I knew it was all over for me for definite, so I decided to just run the last bit of the course for fun and practice, and I actually enjoyed it, nothing went too wrong after 5 but I was just running slowly so my navigation improved.

Orienteering race (JK DAY 2) 49:33 [5] 5.5 km (9:01 / km)

W18E 5.5 49:33

Absolute disaster.
Started off messing around looking for the first control, but by winsplits it looks like most people did. I was going well, catching up Alice who I could see a few hundred metres ahead until number 8 were I completely messed up, she got away from me and I just lost all concentration. Over shot 11 by a few hundred metres and was searching in any and every pit. Relocated and eventually found 11. Natalie and beth caugh me up when I was messing around at 12. I think we all lost concentration at 14 and I stupidly got pulled over by natalie when I was heading in relatively the right direction, I found it after the others went further up the hill so I got away and the rest was fine.

I pretty much knew unless I had a storming run on sunday that all hopes of selection for anything were out of the window after today.

Orienteering race (JK SPRINT) 18:46 [5] 2.7 km (6:57 / km)

W18E 2.7km 18:46

Good start to the weekend, 8th, still wasn't happy with my position but comparing it now with the rest of my horrific weekend it wasnt too shabby.
I was running well but it didn't flow at all, was very stop/start the whole way round. Think it was definitely a course for the fast runners. Didnt have any bad controls but I just felt quite hesitant
