5.11a (first time, onne fall. I was in a position where my left hand was reaching up, grabbing an undercling from below, and my right hand was also right in front of me. My left foot was on a flat topped, sloped hold, so I was not sure if it would or would not slip. My right foot was in an overhang. I was running out of strength there, and I had to rest for a bit. )
5.11b (4th or 5th try already, I can't remember. I got 1 or two moves higher than I ever got before, and on that climb, it's a huge accomplishment for me. )

I can't get any faster, nor run any further. It's frustrating me, I'm trying so hard. And I'm not even losing weight, either. Im not seeing any progress resulting from my running, and it's so frustrating. I'm really trying, and frankly I'm surprised I've been able to keep it up this long at all. Last year, after only a month, not even, of training, I was running my easy runs at a 6:30/km pace. I'm still over 7 minutes.

This hot weather is really killing me. And so is my ankle. But it is getting sort of better, it's just a bit strained from yesterday's orienteering. I really should start doing longer runs though. Tomorrow I'm doing intervals, but on Thursday or Friday I will definitely do at least 4 km for my easy run. Saturday I might have trouble getting a run in, though, and Sunday too, but I'll see.

I really wanted to run more and faster. But it was 90 degrees, there was no way I could've run more, I'm even impressed that I could run at all. My dad beat me by 1:23, all because of a ~4 minute mistake on #7, where I went too far to the left of the line, and when I found that out, I over-corrected slightly to the right of the line, until I finally found it.

It was incredibly hot outside, nearing 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Oh, and I lost both games I played, the first one 9-0, second one 9-1. I had a warm up in the beginning, too. After these two games I was just sitting there for another 4 hours until my mom finished the rest of her games and was ready to go home, so I'm pretty sunburnt.

Note

I twisted my ankle real badly during PE yesterday. Like, I fell and I heard a crack. It is still swollen. I left out the running for today to try and give it a bit more rest, and I will do an easy run tomorrow on pavement so as not to hurt it too much.

Ran with map reading exercise. It went well, I got it done fairly quickly into the run. I'm finally feeling progress in my training, which is really motivating me to run more. Honestly, it felt great today. On the hills I can feel how I can really push myself harder than before without burning out, and how running is just more enjoyable now.

I tried to do the technical exercise, but it was hard for me to focus on it. In the morning during PE I badly injured my pinky finger on my right hand, and then on the beginning of my run I rolled my ankle badly (but it's okay thankfully), so I was scared as to not to injure myself again, so I only got about halfway into the map exercise.

I really don't know when to stop, do I?
So after injuring my pinky this morning, I still decided to go climbing and take it easy. But since I was worried I wouldn't be able to belay properly, since my right hand is the hand I use to brake the rope while belaying and that was the hand that was injured, I went to boulder. We were doing questing. I did all the Vintro's, V1's, and V2's. I attempted one V3, but I barely got anywhere because on my third to last V2 a big piece of skin ripped off of my palm on my left hand, so it was really sensitive, and "taking it easy" for me never actually means easy. So, my finger was hurting worse than before, and my other hand was extremely sensitive to touch. So I ended up just stopping there so I don't injure myself any more.

Get Stoked Rogaine. First part of my first 24 hour rogaine with my mom! Navigationally we were pretty good, but our speed was kind of slow because first off, some of the hills were huge (like, 1,000 feet in 750 meters), but we ran more than we did on the 8-hour rogaine we did a month ago. Well, that might be because after climbing up that aforementioned hill about three hours in, it was essentially downhill from there (for the most part) for the next 8.5 km (we didn't run that whole thing, because there were other controls during that, and we were already tired), so we could run for a good distance. Other than that, we didn't get as far as we wanted to before dark, so we were stuck in a pretty nasty area at dark where there was a trail mapped (along a stream thankfully), but in reality there was nothing but the stream and on and off nasty vegetation. But eventually we made it to the road (I was desperate for that by then) and made our way back to the camp to get some food and sleep.
