Sunday Jun 29

run 50:00 [3] 10 km (5:00 / km) +70m 4:50 / km
shoes: Brooks Glycerine 4
Bit of a rough old run this evening, around the streets of East Lindfield. Felt terrible, but managed to put in 3 x 10min surges at 4min/k.

Today the baby is due so I kept my phone on me during the run. No action though.

Saturday Jun 28

Road Ride 1:49:00 [3] 41 km (2:40 / km) +460m 2:31 / km
shoes: Cannondale CAAD4
Bobbin Head loop, Hornsby first. 12:30 up the Turramurra side, longer but less traumatic (4km @ 4.3% vs 2.8km @ 6.7%) than the Hornsby side. First longer hitout on the new bike, much, much better fit than the Klein so much more enjoyable.

Thursday Jun 26

run 53:00 [3] 9 km (5:53 / km) +150m 5:26 / km
shoes: Brooks Glycerine 4
Cruisy run with Andy, Ben, Jose and Phoebe around Fairyland. Pizza after was real good. Not much sign of gimpy ITB on R knee since Paddys. Feel like its almost 100% now.
Road Ride (Cyclommute) 50:00 [2] 15 km (3:20 / km) +100m 3:14 / km
shoes: Cannondale CAAD4
First outing on the new beast, much better fit than the Klein. Built this one up from the frame over the last couple of weeks, very satisfying to put it all together. Now just waiting for something to fall off.
The ride in was eventful, almost ran into a van and then a taxi in a 200m stretch when both pulled out in front of me. Then read the Heckler section in the Herald totally bagging out bike commuters.
Rode home in the dark on the 'cycleways' (Sydney cycleways are just a succession of signs that lead you on the most convoluted routes through backstreets with the steepest hills and footpaths with steps, full kerbs, etc) because I had no lights today.

Sunday Jun 22

run 45:00 [3] 9 km (5:00 / km) +100m 4:44 / km
shoes: Brooks Glycerine 4
Felt quite flash considering no exercise for quite a while. R ITB at knee is giving plenty of grief since Paddy Pallin.

Sunday Jun 15

Orienteering race (Paddy Pallin Rogaine) 5:52:00 [3] 40.1 km (8:47 / km)
shoes: New Balance 781
Paddys at Newnes State Forest with Seb. Felt pretty crappy the whole way, did it in 2 x 3hr loops to check on Margo at the hash house, we almost didnt go out on the second loop we were both feeling so bad. But it was good to tough it out. Got 8th with 1970 pts, but Ben and Andy killed everyone with 2590 pts. The forest, both pine and eucalypt, was great.

Saturday Jun 14

run 42:00 [3] 5 km (8:24 / km) +400m 6:00 / km
shoes: New Balance 781
From the hotel in Katoomba down to the Skyway and down Furber Steps (the ones that go to the bottom underneath the Skyway). Was getting dark dark so I just went straight back up.

Monday Jun 9

run 1:50:00 [3] 20 km (5:30 / km) +150m 5:18 / km
slept:9.0 shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Against Dr Shepherds advice I decided to go for a run again, this time with Andy and Prong on the Figtree Loop. Pretty murky old afternoon and muddy tracks. Felt better than I thought I would for my longest training run for ages.

Sunday Jun 8

run 30:00 [2] 5 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Glycerine 4
Got off the derry-air for a jog around Rosey and Lindy. I should really make this running thing more of a habit.
