Friday Aug 31

run 55:00 [3] 10 km (5:30 / km) +400m 4:35 / km
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Down to Balls Head after work. Tried to keep a good pace up. The harbour looked really nice looking out from Balls Head to Lane Cove side.

Tuesday Aug 28

Road Ride (Stationary Bike) 1:00:00 [2]
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Sat on one of the bikes in the mining village gym. Managed to rig up the laptop on top of the handlebars and put on a DVD of the TV series where Ewan McGregor and his mate go around the world on their mo'orbikes.

Pretty late - 9pm - pretty much the whole place is in bed by then for another 5am start. I'm glad I didnt stay in this game. Started so late to let dinner settle, the mining village food is pretty similar to a Sizzler buffet, and free, so of course I went too far.

Monday Aug 27

Road Ride (Stationary bike) 25:00 [2]
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Felt pretty knacked, not used to the hours, so I jumped on one of the bikes in the mining village gym after dinner. Was looking forward to going for a run along the walking track between the mine and the village (5km) with the garmin, so I had an interesting google earth plot. But it was too dark by the time it came around. This is not a good place to disturb a snake on a warm track in the middle of the night!

This place is just like one of those sport and rec camps you went to in primary school, but swearing is an acceptable adjective for anything, instead of punishable by cleaning the toilets. And everyone gets their own room.

Sunday Aug 26

run 1:00:00 [3] 11 km (5:27 / km) +200m 5:00 / km
shoes: Asics 2100
Suffered from the absolute definition of false hope "thats ok, I'll just leave the car here and run over and get it in the morning", having to collect the car from Balgowlah in perfect weather conditions but far less than ideal physical conditions.

I must have horse flu. Is it just me or does anyone else not only feel complete apathy (or even a very slight amount of pleasure) from these ponces running around thinking the apocalypse is coming because a few horses have the sniffles. F*** the horse 'industry', hopefully some gambling addicts can now save some money and give their children christmas presents.

Saturday Aug 25

run 1:26:00 [3] 13.5 km (6:22 / km) +535m 5:19 / km
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Ran to Simon and Anna Mc's place from home for a birthday dinner down at Manly. Down to Spit Bridge then around the Spit to Manly track. Just got out of the track and onto the street before dark.

Old Calf injury came back during run so I took it pretty easy. This soreness has kept me from running for periods of weeks in the past so I dont want to upset it right now. Maybe some cycling is in order.

Thursday Aug 23

run warm up/down 15:00 [3] 2.5 km (6:00 / km) +90m 5:05 / km
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Down to Tunks Park and back.
run tempo 18:00 [4] 4.5 km (4:00 / km) +30m 3:52 / km
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
3 laps around Tunks Park playing fields. Felt ok.

Monday Aug 20

run 43:00 [2] 7 km (6:09 / km)
shoes: New Balance 781
Easy stroll around the Ezys favourite road loop with Ezy and jotaigna. Was fun to just jog and chat.
The nachos afterwards while watching top gear was great!

Sunday Aug 19

Orienteering race 40:00 [4] 4.8 km (8:20 / km) +150m 7:12 / km
shoes: New Balance 781
Really, really, really had the cbf's on this one. Took all the easy options, except tried to run through a shin high rusty barbed wire fence full speed, which left my right leg wishing I hadnt. Caught Geoff Davis 6 mins and Ezy caught me 6 mins and we were within a couple of minutes the whole way for the rest. 8 min k's on Macarthur says it all.

Have felt pretty low for the last few days, not quite sure what it is, just a real lack of energy and a mild headache, but I'm sure its not the flu.

run warm up/down 10:00 [2]
shoes: New Balance 781
Warm up, no warm down.

Friday Aug 17

run 25:00 [3] 4.5 km (5:33 / km) +150m 4:46 / km
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Brief run between finishing work and going out to watch the footy. Not sure why I bothered.

Thursday Aug 16

run 36:00 [3] 7 km (5:09 / km) +230m 4:25 / km
slept:7.0 shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Run with kez from the Yellow Sub up to the bottom of Ainslie and back. Felt like total rubbish, not surprising as 6:30 is far too early for exercise for me usually. Nice morning, felt underdressed at the start but warmed up nicely.
run 58:00 [3] 8.3 km (6:59 / km) +360m 5:45 / km
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Ran from The Hut on a loop through the newer forests in Belanglo in the hour before total darkness. It was pretty good to see most of the forest compartments around The Hut are runnable now. We just need to dig some pits now and it will be perfect.
Took it pretty easy and just enjoyed the forest.

Tuesday Aug 14

run (Treadmill) 30:00 [2] 5 km (6:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Needed to remind myself just how boring running on a treadmill in a gym really is. Didnt go too hard because my hard impact style was rattling the thing to death. Did it after the cycling.
Road Ride (Stationary bike) 45:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2100
In Wagga. Didnt feel like battling the B-doubles on the Sturt Hwy at night so decided to go to the gym. Jumped on the bike and cadel'd it up big time while watching channel v. Popped the ipod in and put on Chemical Brothers' Surrender album for hard efforts on alternating songs.
Nice change to running but not used to paying for it

Sunday Aug 12

run 1:40:00 [3] 20 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Asics 2100
Long run around the harbour foreshore from home, down to Neutral Bay and around to Clifton Gardens. Completely died from there and struggled home, wanted to do more but physically couldnt.

Saturday Aug 11

run 1:10:00 [3] 12 km (5:50 / km) +480m 4:52 / km
ahr:153 max:179 slept:7.0 weight:79kg shoes: Asics 2100
Out to Balmoral and back via Mosman and Cremorne. Took it pretty easy but felt pretty good despite sore knees at the start.

Friday Aug 10

run 46:00 [3] 8 km (5:45 / km) +334m 4:45 / km
ahr:152 max:177 slept:8.0 weight:79kg shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Went down to the harbour at Neutral Bay, through some back streets to Kurrara Pt and back up through Cremorne. Felt pretty good.

Margo got some cool new scales as part of her new nursing job. They tell the full sorry tale of body fat %, gut fat %, etc. I can definitely take the results as 'something to work on'.

Thursday Aug 9

run 40:00 [3] 7.5 km (5:20 / km) +336m 4:21 / km
Stock standard run around the streets of Cammeray and Cremorne at night after dinner. Felt pretty good despite most of a pizza sloshing about.

Tuesday Aug 7

run warm up/down 15:00 [2] 3 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Down to the oval at Tunks Pk and back. The hill back shouldnt really be considered a warm down, though.
run intervals 10:00 [4] 2 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
4 x 250m with 250m jog recovery. Each one got faster, from 40secs to 36 secs. Really just trying to do something interesting on a short run.

Sunday Aug 5

run 2:38:00 [3] 27 km (5:51 / km) +1020m 4:55 / km
ahr:161 max:180 shoes: Asics 2100
Long run in arvo from home up to Roseville Bridge, along Nosh course to Seaforth Oval then home via Spit Bridge (actually no other way home except swimming). Felt alright, a bit slow but it was a pretty hilly run and started to drop off pace after 2:05 (spit bridge) with dehydration/hunger/pain.

Have all the stats now for the run because my new Garmin 305 arrived yesterday. Wicked. Still have to work out how to get the plot up on google earth.
C • nice run 2

Saturday Aug 4

run 1:10:00 [3] 13 km (5:23 / km)
shoes: Asics 2100
With lazydave up over Majura and around the base back home, via Campbell Park. Felt like absolute rubbish up to Majura, then felt a bit more comfotrable on the flat section around the bottom.
Talked mainly about time trial helmets and their many applications.

Friday Aug 3

run 35:00 [3] 7 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
From the Yellow Sub, down the middle of Northbourne to Civic and back. Felt ok.

Wednesday Aug 1

run 35:00 [3] 7 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
At night, from central Wagga up over Willans Hill and back to the hotel. Felt crap to start with but warmed up ok.
