Orienteering race (Summer Series) 44:00 [4] ** 9 km (4:53 / km)
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
At Macquarie Uni. It was a good course but I felt very shite. Didnt run with a watch but I managed to get all the controls I wanted and got in 40 secs before the time limit. Got 510, I think Andy was winning with 580 when I left. Pretty happy with my result considering I was pretty much shuffling the last half.

First run for three weeks, and boy did it feel like it. Really nice evening, love daylight savings.

Got an old Klein Quantum bike off ebay last week, really nice frame but the guy I bought it off obviously just slapped what parts he could find lying around on it, as they are all shite. Looking forward to hitting the roads with it soon, the mtb on the road just doesnt really cut it now.

Thought 2 weeks was enough break, but in reality I have been working dawn til dusk pretty much every day for that time. Didnt really care if I trained or not.

The ride was good, out of Nambucca Heads up into the hills and firetrails of the state forest immediately inland. Wasnt exactly sure where I was going and somee tracks petered out, so it was a bit of stop start stuff. Used a workmates bike, she is about 5 foot nothing so the bike wasnt exactly the best fit, resultant sore back.

Felt good to get out though.

Orienteering race (Oceania Middle Champs) 40:29 [4] 4.7 km (8:37 / km) +195m 7:08 / km
Started pretty slowly, lost 1 min at 1 but warmed ok nav-wise after that. Still managed to lose 30 secs at 3 and 9, 1 min at 13 and 14 and 30 secs at 18, otherwise I felt I had a cleanish run. I couldnt run fast enough to lose contact badly, still affected from last weekend, my legs and breathing just couldnt get out of 3rd gear. Kept going through fear of Kez behind 4 mins, he didnt catch me until 19 (he was looking for 18) but got away at the end.

Great course, great area.
