Thursday Jul 31

Road Ride (Cyclommute) 55:00 [3] 18 km (3:03 / km) +200m 2:54 / km
shoes: Cannondale CAAD4
Nice ride on a nice morning. Totally unprepared, first hill down to Lane Cove NP almost saw the end of my fingers due to frostbite and also got armburn. Up Riverside Drive to Lane Cove Rd then to work along the Epping Rd cycleway which I must say is fantastic. Almost like riding in Canberra.
The reason for doing this ride mainly was to check out the cycleway for commuting as we are moving to Marsfield in a week or two. For commuting, as the late great Big Kev would say, " Im excited!"

Calf seems better and Will-related craziness is settling down and motivation back so I should be able to do some exercise again.

Thursday Jul 17

Road Ride 40:00 [3] 15 km (2:40 / km)
shoes: Cannondale CAAD4
Watching le tour at le lindfield flat. Bit more up tempo than last time.

Wednesday Jul 16

run 55:00 [3] 11 km (5:00 / km) +150m 4:41 / km
shoes: Brooks Glycerine 4
Went from the hospital where Margo is at St Leonards down to Observatory Hill to do hill ints with the gang. Left calf got real sore on the way there, and struggled through 2 ints before pulling the pin. Went to run home across the bridge but the calf completely blew up half way across, nothing left but to jump on the train from Milsons Point. After explaining my predicament, I was warned by the guard I may be fined if confronted by transit officers. Thanks Cityrail.

Sunday Jul 13

Road Ride (Trainer) 30:00 [2] 10 km (3:00 / km)
shoes: Cannondale CAAD4
Sit and spin in front of telly at the Lindfield flat, just to do something. Took longer to set up and take apart than the actual spin, but finding out how comfy my new top (Caisse d'Espargne, sorry Cadel it was on special) and pants are was worth it.

Thursday Jul 10

run 58:00 [3] 12 km (4:50 / km) +100m 4:38 / km
shoes: Brooks Glycerine 4
Ran down to Rotary Oval from home to O ints. Back to Andys car after the ints then from Great Northern to home. ITB real sore on way home.
Orienteering 1:17:00 [4] ** 8 km (9:38 / km) +200m 8:33 / km
shoes: Brooks Glycerine 4
O-ints at Blackman Pk with Ben, Andy, Prong, J-Z and Phoebe. Didnt feel too bad, ITB a bit bad, and felt real hungry from the start. Dogged the last one with no energy. Really fun and glad we are starting to do these sessions again.

Tuesday Jul 8

run (Observatory Hills) 40:00 [5] 4.6 km (8:42 / km) +300m 6:33 / km
shoes: Asics DS Trainer 10 red
Observatory Hills with Ben, Andy and Prong. Felt pretty shattered but got through, quite slowly on a couple. see Andys log for times, and add a few seconds for each one.
run warm up/down 25:00 [3] 5 km (5:00 / km) +100m 4:33 / km
shoes: Asics DS Trainer 10 red
Parked the car at Kirribilli and ran across the bridge to Observatory Hill. Back after ints finished.

Sunday Jul 6

Note
What a week!

Margo started showing signs of labour on the 26th June, but things stayed the same (i.e. a fair bit of pain and about 1/2hr sleep a day if lucky) for the next 7 days. After 17 hours of hospital labour Will Edward Meyer was born at 8pm on Friday 4th July, weighing 9lbs 7oz (4.3kgs) and 55cm top to toe. If you know Margo we are still not sure how he could possibly have gotten so big but we are quite sure why it took so long.

Margo is doing well and is very very tired and Will is content sleeping, looking around, blowing bubbles and asking for a feed.

They come home tomorrow I think.

Road Ride 45:00 [3] 16 km (2:49 / km) +200m 2:39 / km
slept:2.0 shoes: Cannondale CAAD4
Got out of the house for a nice easy ride up Lane Cove and back mid afternoon. Up Grosvenor Rd on the way back was pretty tough.

Having almost no sleep this week and very little inclination to exercise with baby deciding to play things out in (very) slow motion.
run 1:19:00 [3] 12 km (6:35 / km) +200m 6:05 / km
shoes: Brooks Glycerine 4
Night run with Fatrat, jotaigna, steveo and sebba around Fairyland. Thermal came out for the first time in years on this run, couldnt be bothered being cold. King tide meant some parts of the track on the Chatswood side were ankle deep with water, which was refreshing in a bad way.
