Sunday Feb 11

run long 2:00:00 [3] 24 km (5:00 / km)
slept:7.0 shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
From Collaroy to Cammeray, taking the Spit route. Took it real easy, but I couldnt go very quick because the injury I got during the week is still hanging around. Pretty much hobbled.
Glad I did it though, but I am not sure how long my leg is going to be bad, I suspect these sort of trainings dont help.

Thursday Feb 8

run 45:00 [2]
slept:5.0 shoes: asics 1110
Started out OK, planned a pretty easy run down to the Harbour Bridge and back, avoiding the main roads. Got about 20mins in and suddenly felt like someone had shot a bb gun into my lower right calf. Limped home cursing, managed a slow jog most of the way.
Last time this happened last year I couldnt run properly for weeks. I think its the shoes -theyre really old and the main connection to last time- into the bin!

Tuesday Feb 6

run intervals 15:00 [5]
slept:5.0 shoes: asics 1110
Diallled up the pace for some efforts around the cricket oval at Lennox Head. 5 x 500m (1'34, 1'33, 1'30, 1'29, 1'23). Almost headed home after 3 but hardened the f*ck up.
May sound soft but backing up after a day in the field needs a bigger effort than usual.
run warm up/down 15:00 [2]
shoes: asics 1110
Down to Lennox Oval and back. Had a look at a cool "Bora Ring" near the oval where Aboriginal boys did the ceremony to become men.
I need some of that.

Monday Feb 5

run 58:00 [3]
slept:7.0 shoes: asics 1110
Felt pretty good on this run except for deep soreness in my right calf.
Did an out and back on the track thru the sandy heathland behind Lennox Beach - the sun setting over km's of rolling waist-high heath has been a highlight of the work stint up here.
I think good sleep and no fieldwork today helped to feel good on the run.
