Sunday May 4

Orienteering (Metro #1) 37:10 [4] 5.5 km (6:45 / km) +150m 5:57 / km
shoes: New Balance 781
Metro #1 at Callan Park. Felt not so good, had to walk a couple of bits with no energy. But got thru it. A minute of two of mistakes when I couldnt be bothered navigating.
run warm up/down 20:00 [2] 3 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: New Balance 781
Decent warm up. No warm down.

Saturday May 3

Orienteering race (Night Champs) 58:45 [5] 10.5 km (5:36 / km) +200m 5:07 / km
shoes: New Balance 781
NSW Night Champs at Field of Mars. Rocked up to see if I could get a run, because I didnt pre-enter, and they let me but I got mixed messages about whether I was official or not. The course was really a long green which was about the best that could be done and it meant you couldnt slow down too much for any bit. No big mistakes, missed a couple by 30 secs or so when I wasnt sure where I was along tracks, and managed to take the win from Glen H (61min) and Andy (63mins). Pretty happy.

Only warmup, no warmdown.

Thursday May 1

run 45:00 [3] 8 km (5:38 / km) +200m 5:00 / km
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
From work down to Balls Head, one lap quickish, then back to work. Nice evening. Calves a bit tight but not real sore.

Got my 2nd ride in a Porsche 911 in three weeks (Margos sisters boyfriend owns one). I have a new goal in life.....

Tuesday Apr 29

run 28:00 [3] 6 km (4:40 / km) +50m 4:29 / km
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Commute into work on a very nice morning. Calves are a bit sore and tight.
I remember why I dont commute in more often - the shower facilities are very inadequate.
run 14:00 [3] 2.3 km (6:05 / km) +50m 5:29 / km
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Left the car at Kirribilli and ran over the bridge to meet the boys at the bottom of Observatory Hill stairs. Calves sore.
run 22:30 [5] 1.9 km (11:51 / km) +175m 8:06 / km
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
6 x Observatory Stair Hills with Andy, Rob and Prong. Had a bit of a chuckle on the way there at the people paying copious amounts to be yelled at to do what I was doing for free. Good to catch up with the guys. Felt pretty good, strange to see Andy a bit off the pace, especially on hill intervals. I guess thats what 3 months off will do to anyone.
run 13:00 [3] 2.3 km (5:39 / km) +50m 5:06 / km
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Back over the bridge to the car.

Really good to so many people on bikes heading home, or running/walking home. I was very surprised at the number of people. But no wonder people are frightened of riding - I pulled up at some lights just as they went red, and had a car come flying through past me in the next lane and had to swerve with sidewaysness and screeching to avoid the poor bloke on the bike crossing at the other end. Sometimes I wish I was a policeman.

Monday Apr 28

run 30:00 [3] 6 km (5:00 / km) +50m 4:48 / km
shoes: Nike Stucture Triax 9
Home from work at a good pace. Nice and cool and windy.
I think the Lindfield Express (Dari and Sebba) powered past me on Archer St but not sure if it was them.
