Sunday Jun 29

run 50:00 [3] 10 km (5:00 / km) +70m 4:50 / km
shoes: Brooks Glycerine 4
Bit of a rough old run this evening, around the streets of East Lindfield. Felt terrible, but managed to put in 3 x 10min surges at 4min/k.

Today the baby is due so I kept my phone on me during the run. No action though.

Road Ride 1:49:00 [3] 41 km (2:40 / km) +460m 2:31 / km
shoes: Cannondale CAAD4
Bobbin Head loop, Hornsby first. 12:30 up the Turramurra side, longer but less traumatic (4km @ 4.3% vs 2.8km @ 6.7%) than the Hornsby side. First longer hitout on the new bike, much, much better fit than the Klein so much more enjoyable.

Thursday Jun 26

run 53:00 [3] 9 km (5:53 / km) +150m 5:26 / km
shoes: Brooks Glycerine 4
Cruisy run with Andy, Ben, Jose and Phoebe around Fairyland. Pizza after was real good. Not much sign of gimpy ITB on R knee since Paddys. Feel like its almost 100% now.
Road Ride (Cyclommute) 50:00 [2] 15 km (3:20 / km) +100m 3:14 / km
shoes: Cannondale CAAD4
First outing on the new beast, much better fit than the Klein. Built this one up from the frame over the last couple of weeks, very satisfying to put it all together. Now just waiting for something to fall off.
The ride in was eventful, almost ran into a van and then a taxi in a 200m stretch when both pulled out in front of me. Then read the Heckler section in the Herald totally bagging out bike commuters.
Rode home in the dark on the 'cycleways' (Sydney cycleways are just a succession of signs that lead you on the most convoluted routes through backstreets with the steepest hills and footpaths with steps, full kerbs, etc) because I had no lights today.
