Orienteering 1:06:00 [3] 10.3 km (6:24 / km)
shoes: Helly Hansen Trailcutters

Very nice to be out in the forest again with a map, it feels like ages and I'd forgotten how good it feels. Started out with Ben and Graham, we were around each other pace-wise (but different route choices) for the first 6 controls or so, then my calf started to get the better of me and I started to lag. I was also hopelessly timid in the terrain and let the vegetation push me around, I'll have to find some aggression for Easter, but the goal of the exercise was achieved anyway. Happy with my nav, but I wasnt going anywhere near too fast to lose contact. Just need to get my legs sorted out - terrain running seems to have much less bad effect on them than just normal running.

Orienteering race (UWA Nav Dash) 18:00 [4] 3.6 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Helly Hansen Trailcutters

I knew this was going to be a bit painful, buut I just tried not to run on my calves and hope they didnt blow out. Went ok until no. 5 or so, then I just pulled up and went much slower. Nav was fine, I wasnt running fast enough to make mistakes, although the passageway through the building into 12 that was actually a closed door threw me and I had to go back around, plus I went very wide to the left into 13. Managed to maintain a solid pace but definitely not race pace, not worth the risk of toasting my calf.

run 45:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia 5

Up to Trigg and back along the beach path. Wanted to run for an hour but my L calf started getting quite stressed out on the way back so I eased up and walked from Scarbs back to the house. Bugger.

run 1:05:00 [3] 13.0 km (5:00 / km)

Down to Bold Park, along Zamia Trail to the south end, then back up the coast beach path. Felt quite good, ran some sections quick, but my L calf started to feel a bit strained right near the end. Grrrr.
