Sunday Feb 14 #

7 AM

Note

Did a family golf course loop walk followed by Hanna trying the XC skis then sledging. Hanna really good on the skis, think we'll move to Huntly! :-)
10 AM

Trail Running 1:13:16 [4] 9.08 mi (8:04 / mi) +250m 7:26 / mi
ahr:139

Headed up lower Fisher's Brae, Fisher S, out and back to Upper Kinneil, Tree line climb then up Airngarth for a lap of the golf course. Headed back via Fishers Brae. Thaw was kicking in but luckily roads had some clear sections or gard packed snow which wasn't too slippy. Golf course getting much easier, will see how quickly it'll all disappear. Quite a hard run overall, just not easy to run easy!

Note

Did a golf course walk plus sledging, so out for 2 hours. Another cracking morning.

Trail Running 1:00:03 [4] 5.78 mi (10:23 / mi) +220m 9:17 / mi
ahr:140

Ran round the lower golf course, out and back on the field climb, then looping the top before heading back to the car at the top of the Grange. Was the toughest golf course run yet, deep powder snow most of the way varying between 6 and 12 inches. Preferred running in the snow to the walked areas which were uneven and awkward. Very hard work but a really nice run.

Trail Running 53:12 [3] 6.27 mi (8:29 / mi) +180m 7:47 / mi
ahr:138

Home weather station recorded - 12.7C when I was out. Wrapped up well! Headed up Fisher's Brae again, along top road to the golf course, lap at the top in the powder snow then back. Quite a lot of stops for photos in the first half as the conditions were amazing. Such a nice, but very cold, morning. Right up there in terms of best ever local run.

Trail Running 56:48 [3] 6.18 mi (9:11 / mi) +180m 8:26 / mi
ahr:135

Much as I love the snow, that was a tough run after yesterday's activities. Headed up Fisher's Brae then via the road to the top of Airngarth. The double U route via the monument was in untouched deep snow so real hard work on the way out. Nearly knee deep in places. Headed back the same way. Will enjoy it while it lasts but was pretty knackered by the end of the run. Temperature - 3C

Trail Running 52:41 [3] 6.19 mi (8:31 / mi) +170m 7:51 / mi

At least 6 inches of snow in the town so headed out for Fishers Brae, golf course, Airngarth Hill and back via the road and Fisher's Brae. Pretty tough in the snow but good fun. Was lucky it didn't snow as it continued to snow a lot during the day. Spent a long time clearing snow and building as snow cave (as you do...).

Road Running 55:40 [3] 7.07 mi (7:52 / mi) +170m 7:20 / mi
ahr:133

Out late enough that I didn't need a head torch. Steady out by Parkhead, Fisher S, Bo'ness and back via main riad. Light covering of snow meant couldn't see some slippy bits on the farm roads. Not too bad though. Was glad I had a cap on the the last mile when I got belted by heavy graupel. Third run in new NB1080s. Bit strange as they don't seem to have as super cushioning as the first pair.
