Walking 7:12:00 [1] 15.01 mi (28:47 / mi) +2020m 20:18 / mi
ahr:103

Family hill walk over the 5 western Fannichs. Climbed A'Chailleach/Sgurr Breac first and the tops were misty for those two, but conditions good. Loved the climb up the first ridge to Toman Coinnich. The mist cleared off the tops as we headed up towards the three on the east side. Another section of great ridge walking. The only not so good bit of the whole route was the very bottom of the descent off the last hill which was a bit steeper/rougher, but wasn't that long. Hanna did really well all day, was the most ascent she's done by a fair bit. The Fannichs delivering one of the best hill days, yet again!

Callendar Park WEE
Was always going to be a tough gig at this time of year. Problems started early on the way to #2 where I whacked my thigh off a tree when walking up through the deep bracken so had a bit of a dead leg for the rest of the course. Required a relocation on a junction before finding the control on the knoll which wasn't as high as the bracken! Next disaster was #5 where early windblow pushed me left and I ended up in an area which can only be described as a hell hole, vegetation over fallen trees over invisible ditches. Luckily limited time loss to less than 4mins once I extracted myself. Then screwed up finding the depression #6 which was as much bad luck as anything else. At that point I was in 10th but thankfully the rest went fine so ended up 2nd by the end. Also around halfway the very heavy rain came on, but kind of didn't notice it much given the general levels of misery, though some of the descents became very slick. Felt a lot worse run than the result suggested but likely pretty much everyone had their troubles!

Mill Laide E to W - 460m
Avalon Gardens E to W - 420m

Having to put in a decent bit of effort to keep up! Nice sunny, cool morning

Trail Running 29:18 [2] 3.67 mi (7:59 / mi) +60m 7:36 / mi

Steady up to the sports centre/canal. Got feet a bit wet at the end of the cycle track, plus track beyond getting a bit overgrown, so might give it a miss for a while.
