Didn't think I started out that hard but ended up leading by a few metres after just 50m. Bit of a surprise because I've never led in a proper race like this before but stuck there for the first 500 which actually worked out pretty well because there were lots of sharp turns and a big tight group behind me. Gave up the lead and chose to let the leaders go because I thought they were going way to fast for me. Kind of regretted that a bit later though because I picked off one of the guys that dropped off it but there were a couple more that I might have beaten if I'd stuck in there. Feeling a bit sore in the legs but I guess I did effectively just do 2 reasonably fast 5 k races in 3 days.

Went out along a track at xc race pace and then we turned around at 10min and had to negative split the way back. Watch said I did a 7:25 5k which was ok I guess given I didnt feel like I was pushing particularly hard

Bit of a weird school xc session, in pairs around an oval with one person going hard and the other recovering with the reps being going hard around the oval until you lap the other person. Basically just meant 800s with equal recoveries

Vic Middle Champs. Didn't have the best start, making a mistake on the way to the triangle when the tapes turned really sharply and i just kept going, a bit of a weird start that caught out a few people. Got it back together and was navigating pretty well for the remainder of the course until the second last control where I started rushing and abandoned my processes. Really frustrated that I keep making little mental slip ups like this but I think I'm on the way to fixing the problems that cause them
