Not at my best today, head was all over the place and poor discipline with following my processes. Three 1-2min mistakes and some smaller time losses too so much to be learnt from this one.

Contours only then last third was a normal map but all in the green. Very slow and not particularly clean to begin with but then got the hang of it. A much flatter area but starting to get a better feel for the shapes of the knolls/highpoints as it went on. Not too bad in the green and very happy I got to go out and have a look at all that today.

Pretty happy with how this one went, still a couple where the contact started slipping a tiny bit but felt like I did a good job of stopping and getting it back on track each time. Also a couple of sub-optimal routes and a miss in the circle on the last rep which we mass-started but nothing too major. Really nice bit of forest, runnability generally better on this one which was very welcome.

Test Race course at Guttersrød

Was planning on doing it at 80% speed but was feeling pretty cooked out there so just went easy around the last third of the course.

Really disappointing error on 5. I stuck to my plan for the first half of the leg but I didn't read/interpret the vegetation properly so I was surprised when I crossed the gully mid-leg to find myself in low-vis felled stuff. I should've just stopped and realised that I was where I thought I was but instead I panicked a bit and convinced myself I was on the ride south of the line. Maybe not a huge error time-wise and partly due to still being unfamiliar with the vegetation but unhappy that I didn't trust myself and easily avoidable by just having the second half of the control well planned out.

Other than that, should've gone straighter to 9, had to stop at a few controls to confirm I was in the right spot with no flags and got a bit sloppy once I started slowing down near the end. Just really feeling it physically today but with a couple of easy days she'll be right.

Control pick at Höiås. Taking it easy again and stopping to look at some of the mapping. Mostly good other than a couple of little things and one shocker where I had awful exit-direction and then made the map fit what I wanted to see. Had been raining all morning so some v wet green that I was a lil bitch pushing through to begin with.
