Burnley Half
First time racing a half so was a little unsure of what I was capable of, thought somewhere in the 71-72 range. Jonny started pretty conservatively around 3:25s so that worked well for me and my target. Had a great patch through 5k-15k and we ended up in a nice little group around then that was moving well. I started feeling it around 17/18k and that's when Jonny kicked on a bit, I held my pace pretty well but in hindsight would've been nice to be able to stick with him (he took 30s out of me in the last 4ks, to run 69:45ish).
Overall pretty happy, far better than I expected and I mostly had a very good time out there. Main lesson learnt is I need to stop being impatient and should sit back in my group to get some drafting benefit for these kinds of races, was at the front of my group for most of that middle 10k and probably could've saved some effort by sitting back like Jonny did.
Also everyone that I spoke to measured the course as at least 200m too long so maybe I could controversially count this as sub-70 equivalent.
