Running (Normal Run ) 35:11 [3] 7.11 km (4:57 / km)

Just a run to get back into it after NZ and to test out the brand spanking new Garmin! Run itself was wet and miserable, but fun testing out my watch!

Been in NZ for past 13 days, walked Kepler, Routeburn and Humpridge tracks (130km total) over 8 days

Bushwalking 4:30:00 [3] 21.0 km (12:51 / km)

Easy flat walk back, Percy Burn to Rarakau Control Gates. Nice beach forest and sections walking along the beaches! Beautiful, but tired legs!

Bushwalking 6:00:00 [3] 20.0 km (18:00 / km)

Okaka Hut to Percy Burn Hut. First 11km were superb up on the ridge, last part was a boring trudge along dead flat old tram lines in the rainforest. Guess it was interesting historically, but I was pretty keen to get it done. Sand flies were unreal, putting a sour note on what is probably the nicest beach I have ever seen! Secret little cove strewn with 1800's ruins/relics, white sand, azure southern ocean and a pod of dolphins swimming about 20m away.

Bushwalking 2:55:00 [3] 10.0 km (17:30 / km) +840m 12:19 / km

Flee the first 10km by helicopter in all of about 2.5minutes - pretty amazing unreal experience though! Then probably the hardest 10km walk I have ever done to get to the top of the Humpridge!! All uphill for 3hrs, gradient was up to 30% in places, and no real track, just blazes on trees which meant having t climb over roots, trudge through mud most of the way. Pretty bloody amazing though, views from the top were incredible- snow capped mountains falling away into the Southern Ocean -unforgettable! Exhausted though safe to say I didn't see in the new year!
