Running (You've Got Options) 31:00 [3]

I really enjoyed tonight's run. Cold with clear sky and bright stars with the Tower glowing many bright colours. Saw the others already in the reserve as I drove to substation so got out of car quickly and strode up hill. They passed me soon after the stone steps. I kept Rick in sight for a long time so I knew I was stronger than recent weeks. Nearly got the final dirt shortcut when I turned around to join the descent.
For lap of circum they gradually drew away, but again I kept up for much longer than usual. A more empty stomach (ate at 2pm instead of 4), no backpack and well rested helps. I told them not to wait because it was very cold and windy with drifts of rain. I had 3 layers on top for most of it! On the way down I took it easier jog walking and enjoying the beauty and solitude. Was rewarded by the calls then the sight of a Southern Boobook Owl (mopoke) which was pretty exciting. Don't know if I've seen one before but my head torch picked up the bright orange large forward facing eyes as it perched on a high branch. I may have talked to it a bit... then realised that the others had stopped to wait at bottom and maybe could hear me.
Dinner - I chose hot and sour soup and dipped vego rice paper rolls into it. Nice and light but still had bit of food hangover and restless evening. But I said NO to icecreams :)
Walking 10:00 [2]

I would have walked more than 10mins. The 31mins above took me up to nearly top and a complete circum so wanted to record that.
