Cycling 25:00 [2]

To B&C's. Tried out some scenes for my solo show. Absolutely sh#t scared about tonight, like terrified in a way I haven't been for years. Almost a bit numb and some denial but realise that the worst that can happen is an insignificant blip in life.

B is for Boat.
Got in kayak with Bernie, wasn't very good at paddling (why were we using paddles with one blade?!). Stood up to swap places, got wiped out by a tree but managed to hang onto the branch. Bernie couldn't stop, went into rapids then probably disappeared over a waterfall. After some bracing pull-ups I got myself, hand over hand, to river bank, took off pack and opened it. Inside I found various objects of little use, then a map which led me to decision to swim until I ended up somewhere useful. It was downhill from there...

Ambling walk with Ym on blackie, too hot for much energy. Very pleasant if a bit sweaty. In spite of butter-thick sunscreen and a hat I was a bit burnt on the face afterwards.

Sly Fox run to wetland bridge and back to SF, followed by peppermint tea, followed by unfunded delicious home-made lemon cake, followed by labour to help Patty with gardening and pack up in lieu of no cake payment, followed by a walk home laden with sugar snap peas and a pumpkin seedling.

Yoga on a day when I really really needed it. Aaaah, I think I am ready to play "Untitled" with Ben tonight. Costume - check, Lines - I hope they still check ( I had better have a run), German accent - check, Hair cleaned and all feminine leg gardening completed - well no I haven't even started, better get onto that.

A rare run with Imo, always such a pleasure to catch up this way. Dusty came too so we drove to Ridge and parked near bike track. We walked up the hill while Dusty ran, sniffed and excreted ecstatically. Jogged to the pond both feeling a bit slow and ploddy after not much running. Stopped while Dusty had a little swim, eventually encouraging two other dogs to brave the water (they usually are reluctant, the owner said).

Restarted the watch and began to feel some running rhythm while still walking any hills. Sometime later had that special magic moment where you are chatting, absorbed in a subject for a while, then suddenly remember you are running. That truly is that amazing experience that you don't get as a beginner and it still blows me away. Felt so happy for the last 10 mins that I threw in 3 stride challenges. By the third one even Dusty picked up my challenge and kept up. I felt like I was going really fast, if only for 15 seconds or so. I think it might be time to focus on some speed. Or maybe I should focus on just actually running, regularly.
