Running 40:00 [3]
41.3C max today so I was a Bit Hot on my run. Walked and jogged to gate2, ran down to Viaduct trail, up to viaduct, over trainline and into the unexplored gully beyond. There is a very rocky creek bed which was good to walk along, the path next to the creek fades out a lot. It's a steep sided gully with a different mix of eucalypts. Passed a few little waterfalls (dry because there is no water even in still pools) and some caves. I would love to see where the creek leads but I'd been out long enough and family was waiting for me to join in important Christmas Business. I'll have to leave Very early one morning. Sat on a log near a cave to drink my water, then turned back and took same way home.
I like the way everyone exchanged greetings on this one day; I had a "Merry Xmas" with a runner, walker, mtb-er, person on her deck and a singer in the church that I ducked into on the way home. As I ran past I could hear O Come All Ye Faithful and since I am sure that churches don't turn you away even if in sweaty running gear I stepped into the hallway bit. A man came out and invited me in so I explained I wanted to listen to one carol and be on my way. He was a bit persistant but I resisted, sang the descant to the second to last verse and enjoyed the alternative harmony on final verse - an old school piano player and it was an acoustic by the sound of it.
Then too much too much too much eating, especially meat. When there are a couple of chefs and an award winning restaurant in the family it's hard to restrain yourself.
