Walking hills 11:40 [3]

Red hill with flan. Walked to tardis and down as warm up, then 2 reps (5:40, 6:00) but I was not feeling good, very slow on second so had an easy run for the rest of it, took some photos, admired sunrise. Nice to be out early anyway.

Back to flans to have some time with E, including a bit of yoga and hula hoop. Scrambled egg with basil was delicious. Met up with Stu later at wilburs, nice.

Very tired today. Cycled to Lightbulb performance and back. Decided to be musician only, no acting. Easier.

Run with Imo on Black mtn on cool wet morning. There is nothing better than a good rain after a long hot january. Saw a large dramatic and interesting web weaving spider I've never seen before; long legs striped white and rusty black, abdomen of fine silver sparkles, spotted black and white thorax.

Up over Little Black, down to old Weetangera FT then back up a pretty ST and wound our way back to car.

Was a struggle to move much this morning, I am tired and legs were creaky and a bit sore of hammies, back, achilles, knees. Still, we are training for the 3 hour rogaine (yay!) so it had to be done. Good to spend time with Imo bc I am going to really miss Ym

Orienteering 37:26 [4]
shoes: purple inov8 trailrocs

Bruce Ridge in the rain. Cold wet orienteering is fun! It's been too long. Really nice to run into some people I know, especially Tara S - had a lovely chat afterwards. I was also surprised at the number of people who addressed me by name, good memories these orienteers! I didn't always know who they were exactly.

Totally stuffed number one because I forgot how to read a map and because a woman begged me to help her. Searched too early for number one, pretty hopeless for such an easy control. After that I started to really enjoy myself and maybe route choice could have been better for number 7 but the rest felt fine for a very rusty navigator. Probably the most surprising thing was the unfamiliarity of running through terrain - I just don't do this anymore. Great workout for the legs. Glad I didn't slip over.

Now I'm eating a lot - orienteering makes one extra hungry!

To Ridge, along firetrails, back via shops. A bit of quad burn from yesty :)

Running 9:00 [3]

On mtb tracks - Health (or is it Heath?) then Davisinia while there was still cloud cover aaah. Walked for 5mins, ran 5, walk 5, ran 4, walk 4. Aiming to recover legs today. Good to do a mix. Kept running easy with 6 steps per breath whether up or down hills - good challenge.

Felt a bit hungry by end so had a few blackberries from side of path - just becoming ripe, then shops for milk where I met Duncan and had an important chat about foley, sound, camera-work and scripts.

Running hills 2:30 [5]
weight:62.7kg shoes: black nike frees

Short hard hills 5 x 30seconds on Mt Ainslie. Yesterday the hills were long, so I couldn't push the hills hard. Today felt good and hard. Dropped J off at eye doc, drove to top of Ainslie, put on sunscreen, socks, shoes, phone in pocket, bag in boot and then ... J rang to say that she'd finished half an hour early and could I pick her up. I might have given the impression that I had run a long way from car, a bit. Anyway she suggested she do things and have a coffee so I got my run in. Phew because any later on a 39C day would hurt.

Under arch and down CCT for jog warm up and some drills. Then 5 ints up hill running as hard as I could, 30secs of walk for rest ints. Back down CCT when I ran out of hill. Nice gradient for this and it's shaded in morning. No reptile sightings although some scurrying around a rock pile. Felt fantastic after and achilles twinges a bit but feels strong and good and flexible - ie didn't stop me doing anything.
