2 x blackie, pushing it for the 2nd ascent in 11:53 (from SQ gate via SQ path then left on concrete and up to compass direction thingy). I'll have to check if that's near my record. ..... It's a faster time but I think I measured from the road last time. Only a few metres longer so I think this was faster. Doesn't matter. Feeling very niggly in lower back, sacrum, upper hammies so walk only today and some cycling. It's good to have a hill where I can get the HR up. A lot of people out today which made me wonder if it made the ABC radio top walks of CBR list this morning. I saw one woman who wins the prize for most makeup on black mountain (that I've ever seen). And very coiffed hair too.

Walked down NQ path both times and noticed a new large round tank in the secret quarry - or has it always been there and I've not noticed? Tested a bit of jogging down to the small dam near the dirt and sand storage area. Quite pretty with plenty of water at the moment. Jogged back to bike. Jogging felt almost ok by then.

Cycled back via shops for milk and few things. Then had very very quick lunch and change and cycled back in to see Heidi's first seen White Tulips - very enjoyable, great dialogue, characters and playfulness. My legs feel very used now.

Only 8 minutes to The Street. I think that's a record for me. Was the last one into the room, carrying my complimentary large decaf latte.

Commutes to LB rehearsing, to fruit and veg and back with very heavy backpack. My lower back is creaky so hope the extra cycling and less running will help

To Mitchel and back for computer repairs. The roadworks on flemington, and lack of separated bike paths, make for challenging riding conditions. I don't like busy roads full of trucks. Nice exercise though.

Didn't feel up to another run so cycled to oconnor shops, then up to upper blackie gate. Took a short walk up hill to enjoy full moon and cold night air and get the proper feeling for dinner. Then back to shops to eat with ric and adam.

It took me 3 trips to complete the task of "Walk to shops and buy a few things then bring them home to eat". I forgot my backpack, forgot my wallet, and, greatest disaster of all, came home without the dark chocolate which was intended for kate's tonight. I searched everywhere at home... then phoned IGA who, after I had cleared the requisite security barriers, admitted they had my chocolate. Back I went again but this time on my bike as time was a bit short. I think the chocolate incident was their fault but I can't be absolutely certain.

riding to dinner at kate's with an extra hill on the way home to get some exercise. Enjoyed the dark and cold; embracing the winter in a week when car is sick and riding is the only choice.

To national film and sound archive to see Sebastian Roger de Nunez's film about Argentinian music, then the lovely and cosy Monster Bar where they ... actually make a good cup of tea. No, a Great cup of tea. I was in tea-heaven. And thank goodness for the Monster Bar Hand Cut Potato Wedges with Home Made Ketchup (chips and sauce), the only low price menu item.
Cycled home again afterwards which impressed people. I was warm enough on the bike, the main problem being that I overdressed for the indoor venues. Too many thermals.

At lunch I was guest of the Argentinian ambassador at the ambassadorian residence. I couldn't quite relax into it as there were only 4 guests and, being the senior female, I had to be served first in everything and sit on the Ambassador's left. He was head of the table. Consequently I never wanted to serve myself too much, under ate and ended up hungry. Except for dessert. Beatrice (ambassador's wife) made a very delicious sort of creme caramel herself, with a dulce de leche to accompany. I had seconds and sebastian had thirds.

It was all very interesting and so good to be invited along with Sebastian and Daria. The Deputy head of mission is fond of bush dancing and also rather proficient at flamenco. He made us laugh.
It's been a pretty amazing weekend!
