Walking 3:00:00 [1]

Spent hours jogging and walking up and down Archibald street as a Canberra 104k volunteer. Didn't bring a book or chair and didn't quite realise how sparse the action would be. Great to see runners when they did come through. Bhole and E showed up to cheer Flan through so I took the opportunity to hand over my fluoro vest and sprint to the Old Canberra Inn to use their facilities. This afforded some great relief in the middle of a 6 and half hour stint I can tell you.

Prachar delivered a delicious vegetarian slice at one point which was a definite highlight. When duties were over I raced home, showered and then jumped in Flan's car to go to Finish at end of Anzac Pde, and enjoy the French lentil soup and apple and peach crumble. Enjoyed watching for headlamps approaching then cheering loudly and enthusiastically. Finishing a race in the dark is a challenge worth a good cheer.

Walking 55:10 [3]
shoes: old blue trailrocs

3 x Black mountains (From BG fire trail Gate via path south of quarry, left to monument at top) on a record breaking hot Spring morning.
13:11, 13:36, 13:17 - very hot and wondering if I would have to be saved at the top. But after leaning on railing for a minute I actually felt normal again. Recovery is an amazing thing. I didn't have any water with me, had only 2 spoons of porridge and cup of tea before going. On way down after last hill I was soon chatting to strangers about orchids and photographing a tree.

Saw a girl in a school uniform at the top climbing back up to her bike. On closer inspection I saw "Do it in a Dress" sewn to it. Raising money to educate girls in Sierra Leone and Uganda. Thanks Cory Bernardi, you've raised so much awareness about this! Chatted to her for a bit.

Ran down after last 2 reps which felt really good. Practising the Duck with Angie yesterday must have helped.
Arms and shoulders have many sore muscles after yesterday's fun

Walking 1:25:00 [2]

Mt Majura with a new walk friend Angie who was the very best company! parked Grayson, up zigzag, down bridge path then back on prettiest fire trails. Saw a Wedge-tailed eagle soaring at same height from the top - much excitement.
Much fun was had doing childhood tricks on the monkey bars (trig point). Angie was stronger and could get her legs up and over. Turns out she spent her teens as a champion swimmer. I managed the lame kid trick by walking my legs up the corner pole and letting go one hand - happy with that and the oh-my-arms feelings afterwards.
Sunny warm spring day, happy!

Running 30:00 [3]
shoes: helios - black

Up to Crmn's in 11:34. Tea. Solo run on OConnor ridge going towards bike track, sweeping around past pond. U-turn when single track runs out, back past pond and some zigzag to top. Jog down to clianthus and to shops for supplies, then home. Carried a back pack. A bit floppy today but legs pretty good.

The walk parts. Saw a Black-faced Cuckoo-shrike at the pond. That's the 2nd in last few weeks.

Running race 22:46 [4]
shoes: helios - black

Black mtn Run up. It's been a while. Felt good to push really hard for a change. Had a good race with a woman in same colour green Tshirt. She passed me on the steep section (I could hear her behind for ages) but I was never further than 6 metres behind. JH said I was 1 second behind but he'd actually forgotten to watch me finish - more like about 3 seconds. Good race.

Lovely run and chat down the hill with Gramps, then gradually joined by lots of others who'd done a lap. Fun to run in a group at the end.

the run down - approx time. Felt very good, no niggles either up or down.

Ran to shops, met Crumn, jogged and walked to her place (C on a bike). Had her do 3 lane sprints, then we walked to Br ridge and ran Health Run because it tells you to, then mix of run and walk back to road. Defo more run than usual for C.

Highlight was seeing Double Barred Finches, maybe 6, on OConnor Ridge - very special sighting!
