Running 20:00 [3]
weight:59.3kg

Rode to B&C for birthday breakfast of French toast and Best Tea. Had to get my run in first though. Walked to top of ridge then a run loop around oc ridge trying to maximise shade. Felt stronger by the end. Ben let me choose a new tea cup from his studio - too many choices!

Wore my open Keens shoes because too hot for covered feet. They are not even running shoes but somehow I survived the challenge

Running (parkrun) 28:06 [3] 5.0 km (5:37 / km)

LBG parkrun Brad-style again. I wake up at 6.15, lie in bed waiting for 6.45 alarm, get up, drink 2 cups of tea and feel awake. Meanwhile Flan decides to join us and cycles to my place. Meanwhile brad hears his alarm, does his usual lie in bed taking his time to get to work... then remembers Not work day! Parkrun day, oh sh#t better go pick up H. By the time he calls flan and I have decided to run on ridge instead and have dumped our packs. We change our plans again and run out to goodwin to jump in car.... ....
And miss the start. By more than last time. We flew out of car and ran across grassy slopes toward lake only to see a long train of runners with faster people already out of sight.

Parkrun: I swerve and join in, hoping I haven't given myself an advantage. Spent the whole parkrun passing people so I definitely started well back from my pace. Getting straight out of car and running did make me feel a bit uncomfortable/tight in legs and could feel achilles a bit. Then I settled into pace and started to feel pretty good, stayed feeling good for longer than last time too. It wasn't too hot. Saw that Flan was in 2nd place, grabbed post to swing myself around the u-turn and didn't have my sneaky walk until maybe 4k. Then Flan joined me to "coach" me to finish with lots of helpful shouts about cadence, knees, fast, push and stuff. So I pushed harder/faster for final few hundred. Surged up that final ramp to finish where a vollie said "you can stop now". I must have looked a bit wild, and wore a mad hat.

Then I immediately felt a bit sick and thought I might even have a little vomit. wow I really pushed! Was a bit proud, but walked, concentrated then lay under a tree and managed not to lose my cups of tea. It passsed very quickly. So if I want to go faster more training is needed because I'm not holding back a lot it seems. Yay! for not vomiting i mean. Funny because I went to Beer Mile last night and was vollie on finish table (I don't drink). I should write that up maybe - very entertaining!

Cycling (Beer Mile) 15:00 [2]

Cycled to beer mile and back. Just wanted to log the existence of beer mile really. Did good work on the finish table, most were able to competently spell their names. Very impressed with the kid's water mile with handicap aerials over finish line, wow.
There was no vomiting.

Running 50:00 [3]

From home to top of blackie via a short chat at sly fox. Said I'd be back in a while. Ran most of flat and less steep parts, hot hike to top where bubbler still not working but thank goodness tap is. Thoroughly wet hat and face and jogged down and back to sly fox for a lovely long rest and chat to someone called Robbie Morris. He could tell by my bush cap mara tee that we would have friends in common, he also just happens to be a neighbour of Adele morrison who I re-met thru Buy Nothing on saturday, and he's a fan of buy nothing. Twas made all the more pleasant by Pattie putting a bunch of ice under my hat and a cup of ice and water in my hand. Entired cured beetroot face condition even before I got home - amazing!

Saw a large moth with wings perfectly disguised as dry gum leaves - buff at top fading to fine black "moould" at bottom. Beautiful and I've never seen one before. No camera damn!
