footy training AFL 1:30:00 [2]
The Big Game. Limestones vs The Noise. Was rather nervous before the start, felt relieved that being on the field I was not worried, just did my best. Did a small handful of useful footy plays and was on the field maybe half the time. Ended up on the coach's diagram for who would start the quarter for 3rd and 4th, in a defensive position. To be noticed by the coach in a team so huge that the bench was as big as the players was special.
Did some warming up, did some kicking and especially handballing on the run at half time to remind myself what the skills of the game are. We did a very brief cool down after all the presentations and photos and celebrating with our cheerleaders and our fans, then a little stretch. I am feeling the lack of something more thorough but since I had to drive home and get ready for my annual student concert, and wash off the sunscreen and glitter paint, and be ready to MC and organise the dinner and play cello for Grace's songs, and play drum for Timmy and sing for many others... oh oh my it was a HUGE day. Very very happy that both things went so well, best concert, so wonderful and positive and made the students happy and me proud.
And the Limestones won!! Yeah!! Noise led first quarter, Limestones snuck ahead for a bit in 2nd, then behind, 3rd quarter they were ahead, 4th quarter they still ahead, then close, closer, then we got AHEAD and Stayed there when Cathy did best goal WOOT!! We had a couple of injuries and word was that a couple of their male players were rough. I kept on women and out of trouble. Very fast and exciting game when watching from bench. ... aaaah so tired....
