Running (parkrun) 34:36 [3]
shoes: helios - black

Got out of bed! Made tea! Left the house on a bike! Made parkrun with 2 minutes to spare! Yay!! Earlier it was not looking good. Between 7 and 7:15am I exchanged a long string of excuses with Imo resulting in her bailing and me suddenly deciding I had just enough time and motivation.
Started off with a brisk walk, stopped for a stretch of the back (and some kind person asked me if I was fainting). Shortly after, Gramps and Davo caught me up, going real slow. I had the great pleasure of pootling round with them for the rest. Sometimes I ran a bit faster and got ahead so I could have a walk break. Sciatica complaining a bit but I did quite a lot of running. As we joggled along Gramps said we were doing 6 min pace. It felt so slow and easy that I have high hopes of running well if/when I get my spine under control.

Cycled with blackhole around bottom of ainslie to philip ave, then back on bike path to Liz and Davo's (next to dicko wetland) for breakfast with everyone. Very pleasant and it was great to see Davo's bath and beautiful garden.

With Imo on lower slopes of majura to the dams and around. Bit sluggish at first so we walked for a while and let the dog stop a lot. Then once we got going I had a great stretch of continuous running. I am trying not to get too excited about this (and failing). I actually felt that Dusty dog was too slow and took every opportunity to skip ahead of dog. In fairness to Dusty she appeared to be nursing a hurt foot. Not so injured that she couldn't grab a furry object next to the path and wolf it down before we could stop her. It looked like half a rabbit. She really loves dead things - what a constitution! Back to my constitution, I am feeling healthy and my sciatica is fading.

warm up and a few walk breaks because I am sensible about my back.

Blackie with Imo. Up pump house track for a lap of Circum then down. Managed lots of running and felt pretty good. Niggle is staying small now. Highlight was Acejase flying past us on Circum, then again on the other side. He managed to gasp "mid-interval" before disappearing round the bend.
Imo's knee didn't split open so was a very successful run all round.

Left a bit earlier because flan had an appointment. It was almost too dark so be on trails without a headtorch, only just enough light at 5.45am. Good to get up before the regulars, saw one other person on way up with a squashed face dog that wheezed loudly. Had to run a bit to escape it's jumping up. Felt good
