Another adventure into the polar vortex. rode to blackie and parked near quarrygate. Took a slow nature walk up pump house track then left the track to go up gully above the quarry - one I've never explored before. Stopped to watch birds and just be quiet. There were no city sounds and no wind, so peaceful. Reached Circum track and turned left

Then I walked and ran circum, chastising a pair of dog pulling humans along the way and stopping to look at things (like snow clouds on the Brindabellas) and allow my legs and back to start to feel good. Saw Adam from YGO group on west side and stopped for a chat. He was wearing shorts and tee, I was wearing snow gear. I guess he was going faster. Great to catch up!
By the end I was feeling really not too bad and enjoyed the joggle down the dirt path to my bike.
Got home with thoughts of dinner in my head. I think I was empty

and then I shoveled the dirt out of my neighbour's cat's outdoor area and replaced in with fresh soil and litter. It was easier to just do it before going inside to warmth and food. I feel that the cat appreciates my efforts

F - day until about 6pm. Good!
My back was pretty tight and a bit painful from saturday's all day sit down work shop so took a lot of work to loosen today. Rode to choku and tested the new pannier bag - much more comfortable when buying so many kilos of veg. Quickly set off again to blackie on bike. Parked at gate to quarry for something different.
Walked to top in 13:40 from there, then gently ran down diagonal ramp down to road, turned left onto circum and did some careful stretching and run drills. After about 5 minutes I felt looser and was able to run to helipad. Rested a bit then ran back to descend Pixie house path to bike. Running was feeling good after the drills and I enjoyed it.
Saw a mystery grey solo ground hopping bird (maybe a thrush) then a bright robin appeared. You see more birds when alone! Enjoyed the mind drift and quiet time, felt good for rest of day
