Running race 25:23 [4] 3.14 mi (8:05 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel DS Trainer 20

CP Park Run. We were all up early and decided to go, Menna wanted to go in her Chariot and that was enough incentive for Carys to go for a run.

I haven't done a Park Run with a running buggy before so I took it easy on the first lap, I also didn't want to take to much out of my legs because of the 1/2 on Sunday. Splits showed I got quicker with every mile. Av. Pace was 8.04 which is alright, much harder work pushing a push chair!

Running 43:33 [3] 5.25 mi (8:18 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel DS Trainer 20

Standard paced run with Chris. Took a new route which was a little longer. I pushed it harder on the hills to mix it up a bit. If I wasn't with Chris I would've done a tempo run.

Warm day, felt good. Just part of my training programme to get running fit again. I have the Paddock Wood 1/2 marathon on Sunday and a bit apprehensive as I don't have many miles in the legs and haven't run anywhere near this distance in a year.

Running 47:47 [3] 5.63 mi (8:29 / mi)
shoes: Asics GT2000 v3

Wanted to go into work early and get the run done in the morning. But the traffic wasn't as light as I thought and I had to cut the run short by 15 minutes. Managed to get the 6 odd miles in all under 8 minute miles so happy about that. Plan was to just do a steady run, nothing more.

Running intervals 47:05 [4] 5.5 mi (8:34 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel DS Trainer 20

Not going to the track tonight. So doing my own thing at lunch instead.

Decided to do some reps along the side of the finishing straight of the race course.

1 mile warm to get to where I wanted to start.
The reps were to run along the gravel path to the underpass and back which was about 450 meters. Did 6 reps which were run at the following paces:
6:39, 6:54, 6:58, 7:08, 6:50. 1 minute rest between each one, Then 1 mile back.

Quite a bit of effort put into these. Felt it when i got back to the office!

Running 51:22 [3] 6.11 mi (8:24 / mi)

Considering such a flat run it wasn't the quickest run i've done. Might have something to do with the steak, sticky toffee pudding and 2 pints of Peroni from the night before at the Ernie Ells golf club!! Stomach felt quite heavy and i never felt comfortable running.

It was a similar route to the run 2 days before except James added an extra mini loop in to make it 10K. As I think would be usual for me, the weather wasn't boiling but when I got back I had a real sweat on.

Nice to run with James and glad he has got into the Tri scene. He has pretty good pace and we run quite well together.
