Kind of feel like i have the Triathlon bug a bit this year.

Want to improve my swimming. Speaking with Carys last night about improving my technique. So, had a few things to try out.

Did 42 lengths in total.
14 Thinking about keeping my arms in line and not going to the centre, and trying to get a good catch in the water.

Early morning commute. Was really nice to not have to many cars around me, makes the ride a bit quicker. Stayed to the roads, didn't venture off road.

Side note: left hamstring is playing up a bit.

Intentionally went out quite quick with the aim of maintaining it and doing a fairly fast run. Think i managed it with some pretty quick splits and even the parts that were going uphill were still under 8 min/miles. In fact if you take the stops out for road crossings the av pace was 7:30 rather than 7:36 which is what i was aiming for.

Thought it might have been nearer 6 miles, so maybe extended it a little next week.

Triathlon race 1:24:30 [5]

Was really nervous before the start of the race. Ate a good bowl of porridge and about 4 pints of water, 1 an electrolite drink. Was concerned about cramp coming out of the pool.

Swim first which was carnage, navigated the lanes and the slower swimmers and went at a comfortable pace. This was the part I was most nervous about. Swim time was 16:07

Bike was done on the cyclocross bike. Not the best but i love riding it and feel so comfortable on it. 9 laps and I thought I came in after 8, but turns out I was ok. bit of a short sharp hill every lap from the juabille stand to the top of the park. Think I cycled slightly within myself. Bike time was 41:47.

Smashed the run. Straight of the bike and into the running without hesitation. Really enjoyed this and picked of lots of people (even though iyou don't know there times, good carrots to chase). Felt strong and think I got stronger at the end. Run time 21:37.
