Trail Race race 22:53 [5] 5.0 km (4:35 / km)

Carnegie Harriers Devilla Forest 5 K Trail Race in 22:53 (3/15 V50). Too slow (to enter, not running!) to get an entry for the 15 K, and so had to settle for a fast-as-I-could blast round the 5 K instead. Nice course on forest roads and tracks with nothing worse than a little mud, a few puddles, and some gentle hills to deal with. An enjoyable workout on a chilly morning.

Road Run 10:00 [1]

Gentle warm up and down.

Road Race race 38:49 [5] 5.0 mi (7:46 / mi)

Glasgow University Hare and Hounds 5 Mile Race at Garscube Estate in 38:49. Steady run on a chilly morning, holding position reasonably well on the second lap.

Road Run 20:00 [1]

Warm up and down before and after the race.

Note

Rest day.

Terrain Run 45:50 [3]

CLYDE Terrain Run, Mugdock MB trails with Dave on a chilly and damp evening on muddy tracks with patches of snow and ice underfoot in 45:50. Fell and bashed my knee on a rock at one point.

Strength and Conditioning 1:00:00 [4]

Garscube Strength and Conditioning. 60 seconds per station this week, which seemed much harder then 50 seconds last week, but at least did mean that there was not time for the dreaded clams exercises!

Tuesday Feb 13 #

Interval Session intervals 1:05:00 [5]

Garscube interval session at the track. Warm up (5:00), then a remarkably steady 14 x 200 m all between 1:39 and 1:41, except the first (1:46) and the last (1:35), then warm down (5:00). Session approximately 65 mins on a cold evening.

Note

Rest day. Knee feeling pretty good, so I'm going to tempt fate and remove the "injured" flag ...
