Orienteering race 1:16:12 [5] 6.8 km (11:12 / km) +230m 9:35 / km

SYO Northern Championships, Wharncliffe North, M50L (6.8 km, 230 m) in 76:12 (with -10.15 errors). Patchy run between the sleet and showers on the steep northern slopes of Wharncliffe. Small miss at 1 (-1:00), poor route through the terrain on the long leg to 5 (-2:00), miss on the open moorland at 8 (-1:45), big miss looking for a small pit in a vague area at 11 (-4:15), then brisk with Jon X (1st fastest splits at 15 and 17, 3rd fastest split at 18!), before overshooting 19 (-1.15). Could do better ...

Ruchill parkrun #92. Steady round Ruchill Park on a damp and chilly morning in 25:15.

Thursday Mar 7 #

Terrain Run 54:45 [4]

CLYDE Thursday Terrain Run. The Slacks (clockwise) with Dave and Alex on a cool and clear evening, with great views down over the city from the top. Tracks very muddy and chewed up by the mountain bikers.

Wednesday Mar 6 #

Night Orienteering race 1:08:30 [4] 6.0 km (11:25 / km)

FVO Night Event, Barr Wood, Long (6.0 km) in 68:30. A mild night, but with patchy mist and burst of heavy rain to keep it interesting. Misses at 2 and 5, but otherwise pretty steady (with skillful/lucky bearings to 18 and 19 towards the end). A good work out, and certainly justified the fish and chips I had afterwards!
