Orienteering race 1:23:13 [3] 6.6 km (12:37 / km) +430m 9:31 / km

Slow, heavy-legged plog round EUOC Big Weekend, Arthur's Seat, Blue Course (6.6 km, 430 m) in 83:31 with silly misses at controls 17 and 21 in the butterfly loops at the top of the hill. Not as wet and misrable as expected. Just missed the dead body (found just behind Dynamic Earth) and the (non-orienteering) casualty on Arthur's Seat.

Slow jog round Loch Leven parkrun #79 on a cold and windy morning.

Hill Race race 1:25:22 [5]

Leg 3 of the Devil's Burdens Relay 2020 for CLYDE with Ty Solomon in 85:22. Lost about 5 minutes and 20 places after - rather embrassingly for orienteers - losing the route on the way up Maspie Glen. Ty was slightly stronger on the gentle slog uphill into the wind, but we were well matched on the descent.

Ben was 53rd on leg 2, Mirjam and Alice 54th on leg 2, we were 94th (!) on leg 3, and Iain was 54th on leg 4, with the team 59th overall in 4:36:06.

Terrain Run 53:48 [3]

Steady round The Whangie on a mild afternoon with mist at the top and very muddy conditions underfoot.

Strength and Conditioning 55:00 [4]

Finally made it to Garscube Strength and Conditioning at the 5th attempt. 3 x 55 seconds per station plus warm up and down (including burpees to "Roxanne" by the Police - you have to do a burpee every time they sing "Roxanne").

Interval Session intervals 1:00:00 [5]

Garscube intervals on a damp and slightly chilly evening at the track. Warm up and down and a little stretching before and after 9 x 800 m all in between 3:27 and 3:35 near or at the back of pack 3 (Alice was near the front of the same pack). A tough but pleasingly consistent session.

Road Run 46:31 [3]

Steady round the usual Bearsden to Milngavie and back along Roman Road loop on a damp evening. Tired legs by the end, showing what effect not running much in the last week can have!
