1 PM

Orienteering race 40:37 [0] 6.98 km (5:49 / km) +65m 5:34 / km

Pollok Country Park MapRun Long (5.4 km) in 40:37. Reasonable run during a break in the rain, but very wet underfoot with some huge puddles. Small wobbles coming out of 4, 8 (stopped too soon), 9 (non-optimum route), 10 (non-optimum route), and the usual MapRun-induced delays waiting for the beep at several controls, notably 5, 11, 12, 14 and the finish. Crossed paths with Al D on 11-12. Note that GPS track (taken from MapRun) is not very accurate and I was orienteering better than it indicates, honest!

Strength and Conditioning 41:00 [3]

Strength and Conditioning with R via Zoom.

Friday Nov 13 #

8 AM

Cycling 35:29 [3] 10.5 km (3:23 / km) +131m 3:11 / km

Indirect (and somewhat random) route back from the garage via Garscadden Woods with a couple of bonus hills.
4 PM

Cycling 19:44 [3] 6.59 km (3:00 / km) +30m 2:56 / km

Straight back to the garage on R's bike (which doesn't have lights) trying to get there before the light faded completely.

11 AM

Cycling 1:12:30 [3] 26.49 km (2:44 / km) +238m 2:37 / km

Meetings all afternoon, so took advantage of a break in my schedule for a lunchtime cycle out towards Torrance then back along the back roads to Mugdock and then home via the Khyber Pass on a pleasant Thursday lunchtime. Minor chain issue on the way out, and picked up a slow puncture somewhere but got home before the back tyre went too soft.

Update: It turned out to be one puncture in the front and three in the back, all caused by sharp thorns (no idea where these came from). Finding and fixing all of them is two hours of my life I'll never get back!

Terrain Run 53:24 [3] 7.34 km (7:16 / km) +208m 6:22 / km

Not-the-CLYDE terrain run: Jaw Reservoir and Dunellan the "wrong" way (i.e. clockwise) with Ty and Ian on a dark, damp and blustery evening. Quite wet underfoot. Got slightly lost of the descent from Dunellan. One lone walker (in shorts!) going up as we were coming down from the reservoir.

Interval Session intervals 45:56 [4] 6.47 km (7:06 / km) +83m 6:40 / km

Garscube interval session in Jordanhill. Jog from car, then 10 x 200 m, then jog back to car. A good short, sharp, socially-distanced session!

Monday Nov 9 #

3 PM

Cycling 1:10:05 [3] 25.74 km (2:43 / km) +248m 2:36 / km

Usual Monday loop into Clydebank and then into the West End before returning via Maryhill in the gathering gloom. Roads very busy with cars, and I seemed to hit all the traffic lights!
