Strength 1:00:00 [3]

Yoga this morning to be nimble for the time trial.

Running 13:27 [5] 3.0 km (4:29 / km)

A new PB oooooo. How exciting!!

My aim was 13:30. Ultimately I would like to get under 13:00. I will need to use Christie to pace for that haha.

Orienteering 30:11 [3] 3.7 km (8:09 / km)

My best night o result thus far. And what an awesome course.

My result was not amazing though but I could definitely feel that the O training camp helped. I was more aware of the O tools I was using. My focus was attack points because at night it is tough to identify where you are when you can't see the area around you.

Controls 1 through to 6 were near perfect for me. Using attack points and a lot of map memory I was able to get to them without any silly mistakes.

Control 7 was a bit messy. I used the end of the path as my attack point. But I couldn't read the vegetation properly and overshot a bit. Luckily I quickly realised and turned back and found my control quickly.

Control 8 to 10 were well executed. I took general bearings to all of them and my attack points worked well.

Control 11 was a mess haha. I used a control 8 as a check point and then tried to head to my control but I did so in the wrong direction haha. I took a while to figure out where I needed to head to instead. I eventually got to my control.

I shot up too high for control 12 but quickly figured out where I was and headed down. Then lucky for me I saw the control in the distance oooo.

Controls 13 till 15 were very slow. Mostly because to #13 it was a really long route. I usually mess these long legs up. But this time I went slow to avoid mistakes. To 14 I ended up at 4 which was about 50 m away. To 15 I hesitated in the parking area but then got to where I needed to.

I hit #16 perfectly for my expectations. #17 was also an easy control. I did not save energy for the finish sprint haha. I slogged up as quickly as I could and that was slow haha.

Running 1:30:00 [3] 14.61 km (6:10 / km)

So a very slow run for Brad and a normal run for me.

Brad and I did the 90 minute metrogaine tonight. It rained on us, I made some silly navigation errors, Brad got our answer sheet soaked to the point that we could hardly see what was written and we both got a bit of chafe. We are idiots hahaha.

Go dream team!

Sad thing is we did not win - we will next time!

Well done to Christie and Tim for the hard work that went into planning this metrogaine.
